Any recommendations to improve English composition as well?

Try Writers@Work for compo. They're at Clementi Ave 2 or Kings Arcade. They've very systematic coaching. We hv only experienced one teacher there, Ms Agnes, and highly recommend. Can comment on other teachers coz we don't hv experience with others.

Within a year, my kid wrote well to surpass & amongst top in class. Also was selected for MOE's Creative Writing Competition.

      Hope other kids benefit.

P.S. Teacher commented the younger generation don't write as well coz can't focus. Many play too much screen games & lack focus to read books & read widely to develop strong Vocab & English foundation.

        Imp75:
the accurate way is, of cos, you know the entire nation cohort's mean and SD which is impossible.

the other informal way is to guestimate based on total score for 4 subjects * 0.75 or 0.72 to derive the estimated PSLE score. Whether to * 0.75/0.72 depends on how you think is the difficulty level of your school papers vis-à-vis the rest of SG schools.

I used 0.75 for my gal and by so far, quite accurate.
Hahaha.. Ya, I meant agar agar only. Thk u!

No No! Computation of PSLE T-Score:

The Transformed Score or T-score is the mark a student receives AFTER the raw score it is "transformed"or "standardised" to show the relative position of a students’s performance as compared to the performance of all the other students in that subject. Subject grade (A*, A, B, C) reflects dividual candidate’s performance in the subject. Aggregate Score reflects the overall performance in the examination at the national level.

All 4 subjects carry same weight. Marks earned for each subject is converted to a Transformed Score (T-Score), which reflects the candidate’s standing relative to other pupils at the national level. Aggregate is derived from the total T-Score of all 4 subjects.
          T-Score = 50 + 10 ( X – M ) ÷ SD
X is pupil’s marks, M is mean mark scored by all who sat for the subject,
SD is the standard deviation (the spread of marks around the average).

Note that in any T-score calculation the forced average is always 50. If a pupil scores the cohort average, no matter how high or high low that number is, the T-score will always be 50. Thus the average PSLE score will always be 200).

Note: Standard Deviation refers to the score within 68% of the average (using a normal distribution). So if the SD is 10 that means 68% of the cohort scored within 10 marks of the average. If the SD is 5 it means that 68% of the cohort scored within 5 marks of the average and so on.

The higher the standard deviation (spread of marks within 68% of the mean), the higher the score.

As far I know, only St Nicholas Pri compute their Prelim score based on internal Prelim mean score and SD to reflect on report book T-score using PSLE T score formula. I can roughly estimate PSLE grades and T score based on 15yrs PSLE experience.

Any experienced PSLE parents here? Based on last year’s schedule, school posting result was released on 21 Dec and students reported to new school on 22 Dec.

Would like to check if students are expected to report to school again from 23 Dec to 31 Dec. Am planning for overseas trip. Appreciate any advice. Thank you

No need to go back after the Secondary school reporting day, unless you are intending to appeal, buy books or uniform.
We left for our holiday in the evening after reporting to Secondary school. If you are taking 3rd language, you may have to report to the language centre to confirm your place, however you can also send someone to report to the centre on that day if you are not around.

Don't have to. I remember getting daughter's uniforms and books. Then report to school on Jan 2.
