Just read this.slmkhoo:
Janet - sorry to hear about your husband's eye. I hope he will heal well and quickly - for your sake too!
Hope eye recovers well and for my sanity. How can a person who had retina detachment twice be so ridiculously stubborn???
Hope he is recovering well now. -
My colleague told me it was super boring. He has to walk face down like a tortoise

Retina detachment is no joking matter. If fully detached, there goes the sight in that eye. Good thing it was discovered early enough.
BIL had a scare recently as well. He was experiencing some floaters. Sis who had retina detachment before insisted that he goes for a check. BIL has only 1 good eye due to uncorrected lazy eye when he was young. Found out that he has a tear in the retina. A laser procedure was arranged to fix the tear and it was done the following day.
Sis was very worried. Even though she works, with 1 kid heading to uni and another still in primary school, if BIL loses his sight, it will be tough financially. Moreover, BIL is like a pillar for the family, even for his parents.
I think the stress for Janet is even more since her hubby is the sole breadwinner. -
Retina detachment is due to old age?

Ammonite
Haha... am old fashion and stubborn
I guess the design and layout of that library just doesn't click well with me
I would still have to visit it since it is more convenient than the library in West Mall
I decided to pick up reading again instead of focusing on \"oppa\"

Other than bathing, eating and sleeping, he has to lie face down. After medication, he should be tired. Son has an orthodontist appt 2moro....I have to be there as he needs to get a procedure done. Will leave him at mum's place so that he doesn't act hero when alone.
When lying face down, he can listen to songs. This is a difficult period for him but no other choice. -

Usually due to high myopia and strain on the eyes. Exhaustion. -

Janet , hope he is recovering well.MrsKiasu:
Janet, that sounds serious. Take good care of your dh. Wish him a speedy recovery.
Oral medication every 6 hours. Eye drops every 3 hours. I am doing what I can. But this patient has to cooperate too. I have to check on him every now and then to see that he is lying face down especially first 2 weeks.
It must be boring and stressful for him too, I guess he would be worried too.
There is only so much music one can hear. you can help him create a playlist on you tube - like if he likes short films, talk shows or audio books. Rope in your children to spend sometime with him, one to one. Since he is at home, might as well as make it a bonding session for them.
You take care too. Be prepared for frayed nerves, you will have much less me time , add that to your tensions and there will be moments when you get irritated over small things. Try to keep things in perspective. -
Hi,Janet…Hope your DH recovers soon. There will sure be some tensions or frustrating moments on the road to recovery.Just be more patient with him lol.
Training will end earlier so will be flying back on next Wednesday.Hooray! -
Hi Sun,
I have to monitor the clock to give him medication and eye drops. Every 15 minutes I check on him to see what he is doing. My nerves are more frayed bcos he is supposed to rest his eyes but he is not. Doctor’s instructions to rest and lie face down especially in the first 1 week. This patient very disobedient. Son tells me he always catches hubby surfing net. And when I walk in, hubby switches off.
