Yes...and it's also possible that there are fewer numbers who qualify under 2B (except for Catholics). I saw in the other threads that the relevant associations are really tightening up and allowing fewer and fewer to obtain the coveted 2B letter: from GRLs, to SHHK, to PVs, even Protestant churches now.

Can I ask why only except for Catholics? Are the Catholic churches very lax about allowing their members to get 2B letter?

I don't think the Catholic Churches issue a letter. From what I read, one parent just needs to bring his/her baptism cert to show the school directly. Thus there is no way to control or predict the numbers of applicants.
Yes you are correct. The Catholic Church don't issue any letter of membership.
You need to produce Baptism certificate to show that you are baptised in a catholic church.

There you go. I was baptized Catholic as an infant, which is common. So I still have my baptism cert somewhere. Maybe I could have used that to apply to Catholic High for my boy, but I couldn’t do that in good conscience since we are already attending and active in another denomination.

Yup. Yes you can. And I also feel that schools can tighten that part by insisting children need to be baptised and this would force some parents into a re-think by just joining a church so that they get priority.

Different Catholic schools have different requirement.

I submitted my boy’s baptism cert last year at SJIJ since they asked for either parent’s or child.
But for IJTP they wanted parent’s not child’s; nevertheless I gave IJTP 3 copies of baptism certs, hubs, mine and my girl’s.

For practicing catholics, this isn't much of an issue. It's those that aren't practicing and need to submit child's baptism cert that would force them into a re-think. Also for those who are thinking of joining the church for priority sake.

Hi, would like to check if the registration process still going on (Phase 2C), I register School A (Ngee Ann) on first day of registration. But i find out that there might have balloting due to oversubscribe, can i withdraw and go to School B (Tanjong Katong) next day for registration (Assuming School B is less popular)?

                  Thanks...

Save yourself some trouble. Just monitor the situation at both schools and register on the last day. No need to register on the first day just to withdraw and register the next day. This is not a first-come-first-served system.

Of course, if you are sure you die die want School A, then go do it on the first day so others know what their stakes are.

Thanks Lexy and Cheifkiasu for your valuable advises. I'll monitor and register on last day. Will the school reveal PR application number after SC number by KM(s)?

                  Thanks..

I think you can safely assume everyone registering for CHIJ SNGS will be under 1km.

If you stay <1km from SNGS, you have a chance to ballot.
If you stay <2km from IJ TP, you have a good chance to be in.
If you stay >2km from both schools, then i'll suggest look at other CHIJ schools.
