Just heard from my CIL who is reg under phase 2b.
ATS will have ballot within 1km as of now, she has info that there are 30 applications Vs 29 places. -

For practicing catholics, this isn't much of an issue. It's those that aren't practicing and need to submit child's baptism cert that would force them into a re-think. Also for those who are thinking of joining the church for priority sake.Different Catholic schools have different requirement.
I submitted my boy's baptism cert last year at SJIJ since they asked for either parent's or child.
But for IJTP they wanted parent's not child's; nevertheless I gave IJTP 3 copies of baptism certs, hubs, mine and my girl's. -
ChiefKiasu:
Save yourself some trouble. Just monitor the situation at both schools and register on the last day. No need to register on the first day just to withdraw and register the next day. This is not a first-come-first-served system.suyen97:
Hi, would like to check if the registration process still going on (Phase 2C), I register School A (Ngee Ann) on first day of registration. But i find out that there might have balloting due to oversubscribe, can i withdraw and go to School B (Tanjong Katong) next day for registration (Assuming School B is less popular)?
Thanks...
Of course, if you are sure you die die want School A, then go do it on the first day so others know what their stakes are.
Thanks Lexy and Cheifkiasu for your valuable advises. I'll monitor and register on last day. Will the school reveal PR application number after SC number by KM(s)?
Thanks.. -
Anyone know IJSN & IJTP the registration breakdown till today morning? Planning to go down to register later would like to know my chances.

I think you can safely assume everyone registering for CHIJ SNGS will be under 1km. -

If you stay <1km from SNGS, you have a chance to ballot.
If you stay <2km from IJ TP, you have a good chance to be in.
If you stay >2km from both schools, then i'll suggest look at other CHIJ schools. -

I'm one of those who will be watching the enrolment closely on 28Jul last day of phase 2C to decide if to withdraw from the application at ATS which I have secured at phase 2A(2), or to gamble on balloting for SNGS (less than 1km for me).arachno73:

not questioning your planning and decision but is it worth the risk?
anyway tell tale sign is under 2b got balloting within 1km, because these will be the same group (who failed the balloting) that will apply under 2c. -

Personally, I think why bother.blownup:

You are likely to have around 30+ to 40+ parents eyeing those 21 places. Parents who don't have a place in the earlier phase have nothing to lose by trying. They can pick one of the other schools in AMK if they can't secure their place. On the other hand, you would have to show-hand just to have a chance. A bird in hand is worth don't-know-how-many in the bush. -

Not worth the risk of balloting
