Thanks! My son went for the sports trial on 15 Jul. But as he is applying for IP sports, was hoping he will get into the interview round which is 20 Jul to 4 Aug apparently

Hard to say as next year DSA will not include general academic category and tests. It seems that almost all schools are already implementing part of these new changes, i.e. almost all do not have general academic tests this year, and NYGH only has interview. I re-read RGS DSA website carefully, and it does not indicate that not being called up for half day program = not successful, unlike NUS High which is quite clear on this point.

Perhaps RGS may not called up everyone for aptitude test, and will instead solely rely on past results and achievements for selection?

Thus far those called up for RGS half day program are in CCA and English. Also those called up for Maths and Science seems to be for interview but no one has received call for half day program (yet)?[/quote]Agree with Harrychew!!

Can any parents update here, is there anyone's dd(those already went interview) going for Maths/ Science / Chinese half day program this Sat??

Ya, i read their website, they have the words 'selected and shortlisted' which is quite confusing. It can be shortlisted for interview then only will be selected for half day program....... or, without half day program and just shortlisted for interview before the final outcome.

Well, we will just need to sit tight and wait. If by tmr no one from Maths and Science domain has been called up for this Saturday's program, then it strongly hint that RGS will use the Maths and Science olympiads to form their decisions. This makes sense as Maths and Science olympiads are quite established locally with a number of well-regarded competitions, so there is really no need for individual schools to do another internal test that can be much harder to ensure fairness and integrity.

Kindly note that RGS Secondary did not take in any DSA student via Shooting domain this year (2017), so u must be very careful to choose :-
which field of Sports ur daughter DSA by.

Which are the other fields of Sport, that one can DSA by ?

You may check the DSA content application form first, for the listing of Sports mentioned, before apply DSA for the Secondary school that ur daughter is interested in.

Just received email from NJC for phase 2 selection interview on 1 Aug, DS applied for Art elective. Those who tried NJC arts and went for the test on 12 Jul should check their mail boxes these few days.


Proud to say he had gone/is going for the final interview round of all 5 schools he applied for.
