yup. since you only did PV for that school, you can only register under 2B. if balloting is required and unsuccessful, then you would have to register under 2C.

Of cos you can PV as many schools as you want as well.

Sure, as many as you wish. For those who don’t have any privileged heritage or religion, PV is the only fair way to "fight" for the 2B priority by sowing your efforts. I would say it is the only meritocratic path besides 2C.


Actually GRL route also can but that’s unpredictable because subject to shifting electoral boundaries.

You certainly can PV in as many schools as you have the zest and time for. The problem is, it is difficult to be even offered a chance to do PV. My specialist doctor and his lawyer wife were rejected for their attempt to PV in a school in Pasir Ris. So even if you have sparkling credentials, you might not get it.

I'm more shock that it's Pasir Ris - no disrespect but the town is certainly not home to some of the most popular schools.

We don’t know what kind of ‘work’ schools want PVs to do. Back then in 2006, the school wanted parents to do different stuff…i remember a couple was asked to do some entrepreneurship program, someone to water the plants, someone to be the morning ‘policeman’ to help kids cross the road at 630am everyday, housewives to be readily available to help out for last min events.

Unless he is a paediatrician or child psychologist, that would be highly relevant. Or lawyer must be willing to do free English tutoring to the weaker students. I believe it’s how you can convince the school(s).


My job credentials were nothing great in my field (bilingual editor), but I offered my flexi time to coach the kids in English & Chinese. Wrote to 3 schools & rejected by 1. In the end, the school which I chose to spend most time at, didn’t even use my job experience. I was tasked to assist with PE and PAL, just like all the other PVs. And some miscellaneous art & craft. Maybe the schools just want your availability and enthusiasm.

Great points! Thanks for sharing. Indeed I think the school is looking more for commitment and availability. My doctor friend is a urologist, so unless the school needs someone to lecture on things like erectile problems for parents, I think his scope is limited... :rotflmao:
