I’ve recently just submitted my application to volunteer at my RC. Pardon my ignorance, I just found out that the school that is within 1 KM of my house is not under the RC. The lady that called me told me a list of schools under my RC (under my address) and was shocked that some further away is under my RC. She told me this changes every election so my girl is due to register on 2020 (for P1 2021) and there might be changes in electoral zone by then.

I still went ahead to register but just and they have to screen me for 3 months, then they will invite me to become an observer and when they think i am suitable , only they will call me for volunteer. so by the time i can do volunteer work will be 1 year later and the timing is just nice for the balloting time in 2020.
My conclusion is, if parents want to go under this, please register now and please take note that the schools under the list might change.

        Hi gurus,

Is there a way to know how many GRLs are applying to the schools in a certain year within a GRC? Mine's up in 2019
        Of course not!

Which parent is so foolish, as to broadcast to the entire world way before
hand that \" Yes, I am actually targeting or eyeing this certain primary school, on Phase 2B date, in year 20xx for my child, when is my kid's turn to register \" ? What for ? Only to invite more intense competition, against my child, when so many parents here are so secretive, over the popular schools they going to enrol in \"?

You will only know the answer-
        On Phase 2B date, itself.

Hi, if we are a few months short of serving 2 years as GRLs, can we appeal and what are the chances?

          Thanks.

            Yes, you can appeal.
However, your chances of success would be zero.

don't take words here as the law.
speak to your CD, CM and even call up PAHQ to confirm if its really appeal for 2 months = 0% chance.

It depends on how much your CD is willing to put his/her job on the line for you. MOE states minimum 2 years of active service, if word gets out that the CD is willing to recommend a GRL with less than 2 years for endorsement then it might open up a whole can of worms, and this is under audit too. Most are not willing to recommend, and adviser will also need to sign on the endorsement so not likely that under 2 years can get letter of endorsement.

From what I have check from my side, there is no other way other than minimum 2 years with track records, no appeal will be entertained.

Hi, can i ask, does being a PAP member considered as a grassroot leader? As in join the PAP as a volunteer instead of RC/CC etc.

Hi all, am new to this and would appreciate if anyone can help me with me query.

                        (1) If i am staying in a GRC, do i volunteer at the GRC or do i have to volunteer at an RC or NC?
                        (2) If i am staying at a different GRC as the school i want, do i volunteer at the GRC of the school or where i stay to qualify for P2B?
