i used Google Docs last time in a sme company. The good thing is it is free, the downside is it requires internet and so, not ideal for mobile workers. So if we need to go to customer site to present spreadsheet or slides, still need to connect via 4G or wifi.

So for on-site customer-facing apps, MS Office will be more productive as it is offline. For in-office use, Google Docs is good enuh as long as netwrok connection is stable. Juz my opinions. :imcool:

I like to seek the opinions of Google Docs suite users - are you better off using Google Docs applications, such as word, spreadsheet, presentation or you feel that you should have purchased Microsoft Office Home/Business suite? Assuming that you are using gmail, not Outlook.

Many thanks for your kind attention.

          I still prefer Microsoft Office

          What about Open Office?

If really have to do a lot of presentation outside of office, then perhaps just pay for MS.

If not much such work, then can always export from Google and use Openoffice, or hotspot from phone's 4G.

sorry for being a noob but my DD has been using word and powerpoint etc for project work and presentation. I was thinking of getting the full suite MS package b/c my current one is the complementary lite version when I bought my PC. So from what I understand, powerpoint can also use google doc applications and it’s free download(I thought only google word)? What’s the downside to doing that? I thought for project work it would be better if it is a shared application.

what is in lite version ?

if need to, can get at https://products.office.com/en-sg/buy/office .. altho $229 for student version also not cheap. ms word/powerpoint is be able to interoperate with google docs/slides, if that's what you are thinking.

MS Office has changed the way you store data. With Office 365, you will be able to access your applications / documents which are stored on the cloud.

The version of Google Docs, as what I found, is a step back from the version supplied through MS Office.
I tested a few documents before, and it showed that there was some issue with rendering the preview / information due to compatibility.

There are also differences between the enterprise version of Google Docs versus the consumer version.
                  Hope this helps.

I personally prefer Google Docs, because I can access it from anywhere, either from my phone, laptop, tablet or computer… Now they offer offline option as well.

you can try uploading it to onedrive, and grant access to all group members
