All About Full-Time Maids

Hi shine_fs, I feel that it's more a matter of hygiene if she dares put these sort of things in your food. My 'insurance' is that the maid eats what we eat. Don't worry about kong tao - as long as you are aboveboard, nothing to fear. Hope all goes well.hquek:
I thought it's more like if she collects YOUR family's nails etc then can do kong tao? If you have to worry about this, I think you have to start sweeping your own floor and cleaning own toilet (ie nonid maid) cos it's very easy for her to get such things.
Thanks hquek.

shine, personally I don’t think its casting spell but more like harbouring the intention to use it to lace your food. Just like how people use to spit into food before serving to customer that they don’t like? Do you know if she wants to cast spell, she don’t even need your personal thing? All she need is to chant your name. That’s what my Malay colleague told me.
How long has she been with you? If she has worked for you long enough, you can trust your own instinct. Woman’s sixh sense very accurate. But this is really a first for me! Never heard of maid who will keep these things! -

==============================================Hi , I have still not selected my agent cos Ive been caught up with house work etc.. Initially I thot of using my relatives agent but realise they are taking frm some other source for Mynmar helpers n to date they dnt have any christian biodatas, i may hve to settle for one that is a non christian. I was wondering whether any one here know of any agent that deals directly with the mynmars and bring them to spore.
I read in the advert some two yrs bac of an agent called Tailor made who specialise in MYnmars, I dnt know if they r still around, any one know of them and whether they r still functioning?.
Hi Monee... Tailor should be still around bah..
Read http://www.singaporemaid.com.sg... something's abt them, I think

err !! Kind of weird!! ask her to\" bottle up\" her body odour as well  Must be Indon, full of superstition....My past Indons use to bring sand frm her kampong, claims her mum made her do it, agent says its normal, reminds them of their kampong. I have also seen a small pouch pinned inside another of my maids bra, she says its to bring her good luck.
Another brought unwashed mens briefs, the maid says its to remind her of her husband.
I told my filipina she had good complexion, she said its due to the fact that whern her first period came she smeared it on her face, :!: I asked another filipina and she too did that when her period first started. looks like its very normal to do such things.. Perhaps U could ask yr filipina whether they did that too   -

Read http://www.singaporemaid.com.sg... something's abt them, I think :)[/quote]
I called Tailor some yrs back, spoke to the boss, he was rather nice and convincing, apparently he supplies other agents with burmese maids too, was kind of tempted to switch to his agency but hubby didnt think burmese was suitable at that time. The boss mentioned outfront payment only as he needs to go to burma to recruit his maids.
Well, I dnt have a good impression now after reading someones posting abt them.
There r many agents supplying burmese maids but I prefer someone who specialise in them, I have been introduced to two so far and will be seeing one burmese agent who does own recruitment... want an agent that can communicate with the maid direct shld problem arises, basically know n cn handle their own kind
better then going thru the normal agent who has to contact the burmese side to talk to the maid. -
I have a really wonderful maid from Indonesia! This is my first time hiring a maid and she has far exceeded my expectations!
Thanks to my hubby for picking her out based on her experience:
- worked in Singapore before for 5 years
- looked after 3 boys age ranging from infant to primary school
- can speak English AND Chinese!!!
WOW!
If you want to have as little problem as possible, it is a good bet to take one who used to work in Singapore and for quite a number of years with the same family.
That means she is stable, no first-time work phobia and already gotten used to SG culture and way of life!
