Not just SOTA.
In the Junior Colleges, for Year 5 & 6, while preparing for A level, maximum permit only 2 (double) Sciences : either (Chem/Physics), or (Chem/Bio) combination, apart from Maths.
JC force you to take up one compulsory Humanities subject. (History / Geog / Lit / Econs, etc)
None of the JCs now allow A level students to take up Triple Science, neither.
If want to study Triple Science : only NUS High can, but study at an accelerated, fast pace. -

And it’s also the same for all IBs, including ACSI, SJI, etc. Max. 2 sciences at years 5 and 6 because of the subject grouping requirements. For medicine, many unis accept double sciences, as long as one of them is chemistry (if I remember correctly)

Does tis means that the student has to drop the arts form Gp 6 to take additional science subject or add on as I knw is 6 Subjects total with the artform -

Should be correct as friend's son was from SOTA and is doing medicine at NUS now -
