May I check, for NUSH CO letter this year, is there any clause that says 'place is only confirmed only if put NUSH as first choice', or something along this effect? Thanks.

If you dont put the school as first choice, you will be allocated the first choice school that you have filled in.
Is not that NUSH will take away the CO, just that you will not be allocated to NUSH. Unless your first choice is on WL and no space for conversion to CO, then you will be allocated to NUSH. This applies to.all school.

Not all schools, at least not to RI.

RI CO letter stated and highlighted \"provided that he indicates Raffles Institution as his top preference\", my understanding is that one will miss it if putting as 2nd.
RI had put above clause, in their CO letter.

Did RGS also put the same clause
as RI, inside RGS CO letter ?

My dd really like her sports, but she thinks her CO sch may not be as strong, so she thinking of giving up n use PSLE results to go rgs, but then I told her u get kick out of sports domain mean the team they choose is much stronger than u, if end up get into the sch also no guarantee can play for 1st team. Quite confident can get in using results, but there is always a IF, as rgs cannot afford any margin of error
DS is in RI year 4. From what he has been sharing with me, there are DSA sports boys that don't make it to the school team. Some are because other boys have become taller/bigger after their growth spurt so those boys are faster/stronger. Some are because other boys have become more skillful after training, even better than DSA sports boys. So, entering a school via DSA sports doesn't guarantee a place in school team and entering a school via PSLE doesn't mean can't be in school sports team.

Definitely... opportunities will be given according to performance. However, Mengsan it would be ideal to share these with your DD so as to also manage your DD's expectations and consequently, her emotions and sense of self esteem as well! Good luck! 🙂

It was mentioned in earlier chats that after 31st, CO and WL is sent to MOE. MOE will be the clearing house for such. If it is in MOE’s FAQ 1) WL 2) CO (example mentioned in earlier thread), shouldnt the policy applies to all schools? Its possible exception can be made for SST, NUSH and SOTA as they are different from the other schools, but all other schools should follow same MOE’s guideline.
And would the school actually get to see what an individual puts as first choice or is it MOE that uses its computer to automatically sort out all WL and COs?

I think it is best to clarify with the school or MOE if in doubt.

NYGH WL is as good as a CO. My DD had a WL last year and like what Mdm Heng would have mentioned at the briefing, based on past 11 year records, all WL traditionally would be converted to a CO, except for Year 2014.

I'm not understanding this ... are they saying most their COs turned down offer? Thanks.
