I need comparison between TKGS and St. Margarets because my DD has been offered WL in TKGS and CO in SMSS. I want to put WL as my first choice. But I am not sure it's a good decision or not.

Both are good autonomous schools, St Margarets would take in affiliation till 200 so there would be a wider spread of T-score compared to TKGS who has no affiliation. TKGS is undergoing PRIME for at least another year, so Sec 1 may still be at the holding site.

Hi, I would like to seek opinion on IP vs IB,

Gotten both CO fm SJI and CHS, thinking what advice should I give my DS on these 2 different programs, many thanks in advance .
          Hi Charcheah,

You may need to take other factors into consideration too eg Catholic High School strong focuses on bilingualism, special programs of both schools, how both schools nurture their students through their special programs, CCAs offered by both schools, home-school distance, strength and weakness of your child.

Do discuss all these aspects with your child before making decision.

For P6s, it is natural that many parents focus on comparing the Y1-Y4 programs. I feel it is equally important to look at Year 5-6 program leading up to the A level exams. For IP students who are not taking O levels, the A levels (or IB) results will be be used for university admission. Heard from an insider source that in terms of A level results, HCI is distant second behind RI (in past years).

A level results is of course only one aspect, but it reflects the strength of the Y5-6 program & quality of teaching.
The schools released press releases on their A level results on their websites so that is another point for research.

Here is 2016 A level results from school website

RI had better top student but overall A level seems not much difference.

                how about VJC?

was VJC a \"distant third\" in past years' A Level performance, to HCI ?

Perhaps, do some background homework inquiry into EOY (End-of-year) Sec 2 & Sec 4 Promotion criteria, find out the diffference between (SJI IB and Catholic High IP), ask your son which school environment or promotion criteria he is more comfortable with attaining, since he is the one going to study, for the next 6 years ahead ?

CHS (IP SAP) study Higher Chinese.

Currently in his primary school, is he taking Higher Chinese at P6 ?

It was a great relief for both parents and child as my daughter only applied to one school. Phew, really nail bitting session 😓

:congrats: :rahrah: to you and your dd1!
