How is the traffic to Nanyang in the morning? Is it very bad?

Traffic is quite bad in the morning but it still moves, you will get used to it

As NY starts at 8:15am hence The traffic will be much better if you arrive school around 7:45am or later

- NYGH’s curriculum timing from mon to fri
- they have 2 breaks? may I know the duration? does it mean they have to eat lunch in school every day?
- are all CCAs at least 2 days? which are the CCAs that is 1-2days a week?

1) - they starts school around 8:10am but I think they all ends at different timings
2) - I am not sure, my girl is now in sec 3 and usually we don't bother much about them anymore
3) - I would think most cca are twice a week but during competition and performance period, some could go up to everyday

When dd was in lower sec last year, lessons ends at 2.15pm/2.30pm.

For the upper Sec, it will depend on the subjects that the child takes.

School starts late at 8.15am everyday, recess are staggered so it will be different for different levels.
Based on dd’s current sec 3 timetable, her recess break is at around 11.30am. Recess last for about 45 mins to an hour.
CCA starts from 3.30pm , so the child can have another ‘tea break’ from school dismissal time to 3.30pm if she stays back for CCA.
In any case, the child shouldn’t have to go hungry.
If there is any valid reason, just let the teacher know and the teacher can allow the child time to eat under special circumstances.
That’s what dd shared with me previously.

Not sure about the CCAs too since selection was back in Sec 1.
Think twice a week seems to be the minimum except perhaps for the Audio- Visual club?
They will have to cover the school events though, so the timings may not be so fixed?
There is a CCA fair before the selection of CCAs, so the child can find out more information then.

Hi juxta,how are you? I believe you are Sec 3 this year rite? How are you coping with your studies & other activities so far? For Audio-Visual club, do you need to havè any prior experience/talents before joining this CCA? Is it easy to join? What did you do for this CCA? Like need to stay back for other events besides the normal CCA days? How many times per week for this CCA; which day & time of CCA? Do you need to go back on Saturday for other activities? Besides Audio-Visual Club, is it all CCAs under Clubs/Societies are held once a week, not so taxing? But is it easy to join in the 1st place?

Besides 3rd language, CCA, what other activities are held after curriculum hours? In normal days, what time did you usully get back home & how often did you not require to stay back late in school? I mean is it true that almost Mon to Fri usually have to stay in school till 5-6pm?

Sorry for my long-winded questions...Highly appreciate if you can share with me your life in NYGH & what you know about the CCAs. ^-^ TIA
