This is one of the alternative SAP School beside RVHS. Just that a bit not ideal in terms of location in which need to travel bu buses where either alight along Blk 410 Commonwealth Avenue West or Bus Stop B17091 along Clementi Road.
Anyone could share how the traffic condition in the morning? -

Hi, most NanHua High students seem to use Commonwealth road & walk the short 2min to school, so there's no traffic jam entering the school compound. The slow traffic is rather along Commonwealth itself. Could be tricky if it rains heavily. -
Hi is there any direct bus from Woodlands to Nan Hua High besides taking train (if hav under 1 hour will be great)?
Is considering between Nan Chiau High and Nan Hua High but very concerned with the transport fm woodlands, MRT quite cramped and may breakdown, but by bus only seems to be 963 which take more than an hour (meaning my DC will have to wake up very early tho)
Nan Chiau High seems to be nearer by bus 161 which is 25 minutes by highway. Both schools have quite similar opportunities and academic performances fm friends who have child in the 2 schs.
Any suggestions on the transport?

As a former student who travel from Sembawang to Nan Hua every single weekday for 4 yrs, I must tell you that it is very tiring and killing, especially for the last 2 years when I had to wake up at 4.45am and get out by 5.30am to get to sch on time. Guess it will be quite similar if you are living far off fm the MRT in Woodlands.Hi is there any direct bus from Woodlands to Nan Hua High besides taking train (if hav under 1 hour will be great)?

The difference is quite clear, that my studying and sleeping time will be much lesser than the rest having to wake up early and waste arn 3 hours each day on travelling. Naturally, it wont b surprising that someone who live as far as me would be losing out to the others, when other ppl have the energy to utilise the luxury of time to do smthing more, or the luxury of sleep compete by burning midnight oil (at least for me as I am not those smart ass who have photographic memory).
I an not putting the notion that NH is horrible, but I must say that to be fair enough Nan Chiau High is also a decent SAP school with exceptional results. Just look at how competitive NYJC's cut off point had became (Nan Chiau High students forms a notable portion of the intake of NYJC at least for the few years when I was there, and most of them actually qualified for RI and HCI).
I agree that it is hard to find an SAP school that is very close to Woodlands, but just hope ur DC dont need to suffer that much for choosing a school that takes up a lot of travelling time. :xedfingers: -
