What brand of casual handbag are you carrying?
I have been buying from OG the Perini brand, price maybe in the range of $30 to $60 iirc.
I find the pvc material degenerating faster these days.
I bought a full leather handbag 20 years ago, unknown brand from a leather shop at Bt Timah SC, can’t remember its price, maybe less than $300 then. Cold storage it since I stopped working in 2000.
Took it out yesterday, a little musty smell which went away after a day’s exposure.
I am thinking whether I should pay more to get a full leather handbag or continue to buy the pvc ones which last me about 1.5 years before the material breaks up.
What do you advise? -

My hand bag usually costs <$20. The recent I got cost $10. If I can use it for a year, I think it is worthy -

My bags are in the Perlini price range too. In fact, my last 2 bags were Perlini, but my current one is something else which I got in Malaysia. And yes, I find the bags start peeling after a year or so, and I usually replace them every 1.5-2yrs. I've never forked out for a full leather bag, so I don't know how long they will last. My question is, if they cost 6 times the cheaper bags, will they last 6 times longer? I doubt it, so I stick to the cheap bags. I don't have an image to uphold like someone in a high-status job, and don't have the salary to do it either! I tend put my bags on floors etc. so I don't want an expensive bag which I will feel I need to molly-coddle.What brand of casual handbag are you carrying?

Yes, slmkhoo, if a branded bag can last for some years with daily usage, I don’t mind paying too

Go for genuine leather.
Few years ago, I bought a brandless genuine leather handbag from a pushcart inside a shopping mall, paying slightly above $100 for it. The bag/skin is still in good condition now.
