You have around 10 months before registration starts.
Maybe try option 1 but if can't get, option 2 school for 2S (ballot for SC>2km for this yr). -
If both schools are under phase 2C, you also need to plan your strategy and agree with your spouse what is your balloting appetite. 200%? If 400% are u still applying for Option 1? ATS staff have been very nice the past few years to post up the distance breakdown every few hours. But you never know what will happen next year. U know u must station yourself there to find out the latest number as the time ticks by till closing time? Then if the numbers go beyond your agreed comfort level, plan your escape route to School 2 with minimum half hour buffer. If u miss the closing time, you will be left with the 2C(S) school.
