Hi, we folks personally do prefer double commas; still our school's EL HOD did remark, in variations of corrections, that sans comma is also acceptable.
Check with your school lah.

https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/grammar/relative-clauses:
\"You do not need to put a comma before restrictive relative clauses. On the other hand, non-restrictive relative clauses should be separated from the rest of the sentence by a comma or commas. For example:
A list of contents would have made it easier to steer through the book, which also lacks a map.
Bill, who had fallen asleep on the sofa, suddenly roused himself.\" -

P4 SA2 English Paper 2 sample question, on \"Synthesis and Transformation \" :-
given
1a. Judy is the cleverest student in our class.
1b. Her brother is a doctor.
___________ whose _________________________.
What is the correct answer ?
is it
Judy whose brother is a doctor is the cleverest student in our class.
OR
is it
Judy, whose brother is a doctor, is the cleverest student in our class
qn :
do we need to insert one or two comma, for \"Synthesis and Transformation\" ?
If we do not insert comma (punctuation), will the P4 student be penalized, eg : half mark deducted, since this is an English language Paper 2 ?
Note that in the given example: Judy, whose brother is a doctor, is the cleverest student in our class. Did you notice that 'whose brother is a doctor' is surrounded by commas? Why? Because it is nonrestrictive phrase. -
For example
The teacher is well-respected by his students. His wife is a principal.
The teacher, whose wife is a principal, is well-respected by his students.
1. Whose is used to join 2 or more sentences together.
2. Whose is used to show possession. So, the subject or object in one sentence must own the subject in the other sentence.
3. When whose is used, it replaces possessive pronouns like his, her, their.
4. Whose is placed directly after the possessor. -

Perhaps you have not seen this book. Just select questions that are closely similar to your child’s school last year exam paper and let your child practise. Do selective questions based on your child’s weakness.
