Hi, it looks like my son (who is in Sec 2 SJI express) has successfully applied to transfer to SJI IP in Sec 3. May I please ask parents with kids in SJI, or SJI kids, who have travelled this road whether the adjustment will be difficult? Any advice would be most welcome. Thank you!

Congratulation Happy70. Great job for your Son. May I ask what was the grades that your Son got in order to qualify? I know the school has the promotion criteria but I think there will be many who are qualified based on the criteria but how many vacancies did the school offer for the transfer? Did your Son take the GAT? What was his score? Sorry for asking so many questions. My Son is currently sec1 express also, so I am curious to know.

Hi, no worries. Thank you. My son typically gets an overall score of mid-70s. But he has classmates who also got in this year with overall scores in the high 60s. This year, they took in about 24 boys from express. Yes, he did take the GAT. We don’t know his GAT score, though. It is an external test (though administered in SJI). While my son did not achieve this, I hear that getting distinctions for ISM helps. All the best to your son.

Thanks Happy70. Really very informative. It does shed some light on the IP transfer. At least we know what to aim for next year.

Btw, does anybody have any recommendation for English tuition? My Son is a bit weak in English and English Literature.

Can I ask will Sec 2 still test the sec1 syllabus for history and geography? Do we still need to keep the text?

The SCGS exit will be ready in 2019.

Last weekend I just drove to Malcom rd.
Need to cross 2 traffic light n a canal to reach stevens mrt entrance.
                        Actually quite a distance.
Lianhe Zaobao reported that there are plans for a sheltered walkway to the new Stevens MRT underpass, ready in early 2020.

                        上述长约60米的地下人行通道建成后,学生便能从史蒂芬站直接从地底通到杜尼安路,陆路交通管理局也打算在通道出口建有盖走道,连接到新加坡女子学校和圣若瑟书院的校门前。
