Thank you Cheif Kiasu and KSI. Can you please explain why english is my weakest the rest get A*. But english B zzzz!Sooo sad beacuse of english i loose top in school every year zzzzzzzzz

Your English is the weakest because you think it is your weakest. You are what you think.

Instead of worrying about how you need to improve your English, why not just enjoy yourself reading the Straits Times and stories that you enjoy, and imagine yourself to be the editor? How would YOU have written those articles? After reading each article and think about how YOU can summarize the entire article in a one short paragraph, capturing the essence of the article.

If you do this religiously for 21 days, one article a day, I will guarantee you will start being able to do it unconsciously in under 5 mins per article. Continue for another 21 days and it will become an unconscious habit you can do in your mind. Continue for another 21 days and you will be able to handle any comprehension or essay writing thrown at you.

ruyu, I'm not trying to be nasty, but I think the chances that you can get A* for PSLE is low, given your response. You only want to \"try\" and you \"pray\" for it. You already have the pre-conception that you cannot achieve it. There is a BIG difference between wanting something AND believing that you WILL get something.

If you see my house cluttered with the fat or tall trophies. The smaller ones are kept in a box and placed in the storeroom. Alot of big ones are aslo placed in the storeroom cos no more place to put in the condominium
Is your question why \"scream\" and not \"screamed\" or:

why \"scream\" and not \"shout\"?

Sorry! It's a grammar question. So why it is present tense (scream) when the rest of the sentence is in past tense.

Hi skyjuice(cannot help thinking of rain at this point when I write your nick šŸ˜‰ )

This is known as verbs of perception. The word to fill in the blanks is a \"bare infinitive\" means a verb in its basic form.

Verbs of perception
The verb of perception (see, watch, notice, hear, listen, feel) are followed by bare infinitive or by -ing form (present participle).

If we want to say that we heard or saw the whole action from beginning to end, we usually use bare infinitive
I saw him sign the cheque.
If we want to say that only saw or heard part of the action, we use -ing form
I saw the consultant waiting in reception.
(I saw consultant. He was waiting in reception.)

Bare infinitives Formal defintion
The bare infinitive is used as the main verb after the dummy auxiliary verb do, or most modal auxiliary verbs (such as will, can, or should). So, \"I will/do/can/etc. see it.\"
Thanks ksi! Can never put a name on the types of grammar. Your reply is very comprehensive. Lucky managed to teach it to DS before he went for English paper 2!
