and i think you can hear your heart pounding very loudly too. i sat on the chair in the school hall when daughter collected her results, afraid my legs will turn into jelly.

I will encourage going with your child to collect the results, as this is a significant moment for the child (and parent). Be there to support your child however the results turn out.
