On 22 dec, can parents tag along?

should be ok as some schools will have parents talk and also need help to carry the books, uniform etc ?

@passioninlearning , re your article that says:
Priority of choices
While many parents may attempt to prioritise schools with up to COP +5 to +8, and selecting schools nearer to T-score at 3rd or 4th choice, do note that the priority of choices will impact the enrollment possibility. For instance, if Student A and B has the same score, but A puts the school as 1st choice while B puts as 3rd choice, then obviously A will be prioritised in the school admission. Not forgetting, the order of choices is also critical, in the event of appeal
my understanding is that this is not true? I was under the impression that the student with the higher T-score (to whatever decimal place that is known only to MOE) will have priority in choice. So it is possible for Student B to be admitted to the school that is his 3rd choice before Student A's first choice if his T score is higher than Student A (even if they both appear to have the same T score).

I thought that order of choice would only matter when the new PSLE system kicks in. I suppose the order of choice might make a difference in event of appeal? Do you have any MOE reference for your assertion? Not intending to challenge you, rather, I'd really like to know.

            Thanks!

              ELLYS:
Hi did anyone notice that in the colourful MOE brochure named 'What's Next' inside the result pack, it states that CHIJ St Nicholas has both IP and IB programme? Since when did this school have an IB offer? How can MOE make such a major blunder or am I the one who is uninformed?

              https://s18.postimg.org/cocrz60vd/008.jpg\">
There is a printing mistake error, with the print out.

CHIJ St Nicholas Girls' Secondary only offer \"O\" level and \"IP\" A-level program (held at Eunoia Junior College, in Year 5 and 6). There isn't any International Baccalaureate programme, conducted at St Nick.

So, when u fill up the form for your 6 choices, u need to specify clearly which programme that u want, ie. Is it the \"IP\" or the \"O\" level programme u are keen in ?

If you're interested in both; then put SNGS \"IP\" first, followed by \"O\" level below.

                Thanks!
I think this was found in the previous admission booklet but I think they remove it in the present edition

Students are posted to secondary schools based on merit. Student with a better rounded aggregate score will be considered for admission first subject to the availability of vacancies in the selected school. If there are no more vacancies, then the student will be considered for his/her next choice school(s).

In situations where there are two or more students with the same rounded aggregate score vying for the last place in a school, they will be posted based on their citizenship status (i.e. Singapore Citizens, then Singapore Permanent Residents, then International Students). If there is still a tie, say between two Singapore Citizens, the one with the higher unrounded aggregate score will be posted into the school first. If there is still a tie between two citizens with the same unrounded aggregate score, then posting into the school will be determined by a computerised ballot where each student is given an equal opportunity.

Students who fail to get a place in any of their choice of schools will be posted to a school near their home which still has vacancies. As such, parents who have changed their official residential address in their NRIC are advised to update the primary school of their new address by the end of PSLE.

Heard 262 awarded ESIS. Anyone with 261 or 260 awarded ESIS? It would be a good gauge in whether the COP for top schools will go up or down, or remain the same?

Is 262 the confirmed ESIS COP?

What is the top 10% COP this year (roughly)? 250 or higher?

                        MoonlightMommy:
                        Hi all,

Is there a COP to get third language option? Just curious. Also, what to bring on 22 Dec when going to the posted school? All I know is must wear Pri Sch uniform. New to these things to kind of confused hehehe.
About the third language option: Top 10% score (I believe >=252 last year) is eligible to apply for Category 3 third language. But whether the applicant will be successful in getting a place depends on the popularity of the language and availability of teachers. For Japanese, I only know of those with >=255 that were successful in application last year. Spanish I believe was the hardest, where only >=260 seems successful. This is based on hearsay so please take the info with a pinch of salt.
