Besides Chung Cheng high Yishun , Yishun town Sec , which are the school can be input into the 6 choices with the T chore of 240 ? If first choice is cchy cop of 237 is the chance high to get in ? What other choice do I have .. pls help
Here’s a suggested list around North area but I believe your child has high chance of getting into Chung Cheng High Yishun. I wasn’t sure if it’s for boy or girl so included both..

        Mum Needs Advice:

Sorry May I know if this year PSLE score was better , as in more students did well?

Yes many schools reported a stronger showing in this year's psle performance compared to last year. Hence the general consensus is that COP of popular schools will go up cos of the overall good performance of this year's cohort. To be safe, factor this into consideration when selecting yr choice of schools.

I believe the kids 250 and above there are more kids..so cop for top schools might not vary much but 235-250 there are lesser kids and below 235 there are more kids this year from what i hear.so there may few pts drop n rise for schools which hv cop below 250

I wonder it has something to do with English & Chinese languages? My DD's classmate got 253 but did not offer Cat 3 Foreign languages. Her Eng A*, Chinese was A but Higher Chinese : Distinction though. Dunno how the allocation was based on what criteria? Probably both Eng & Cl must be A*?? :?
Hmmm...chances are parents already have a good idea what they and kids want esp those high flyers. However maybe there is that small group, maybe the more chill folks, who have not really thot much about school choices til now ?

There are also some, whose child out performed their expectations and they are now looking at choices where they hadn’t been considering.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s fair to ask for options and comments. However, when you are able to narrow down to 2 or 3 choices of schools within +-2 COP, it’s usually just an issue of whether the child fits into a particular school culture, bearing in mind that some schools are more than 50 years old. It’s unlikely their culture can be changed at all.

That is what we are experiencing now. Our child has outperformed our expectation and now we don't know whether we should stick with the school that we wished him to join or we should consider another school. Initially we want him to join either HCI or NUS High but NUS High is no longer in our shortlist. Now we're trying to get as much information as possible for RI (we already know about HCI) because we were never attended RI open house and has never been there before. So, we don't know their culture and what we can expect from the school.
Just to share with you. My boy is in RI and will be Sec 2 next year. He really enjoys the curriculum and learning there. The teachers have good lesson plans and are mostly helpful and approachable. It's not really that competitive. He and classmates made their own study notes while preparing for exam and they are all willing to share with each other. Majority of the boys are fun loving but also serious when it comes to learning. It has great learning environment. I think you should really consider letting your boy join this school.

Hmmm…I also a bit suspicious…haha…My dd said she saw it was 253, but I also think she might have saw wrongly… So it was more on aggregate scores rather than the languages?

Yeah it should based on the T-score not on individual language subject score 😓
