May I know what are the languages offered / available for cat 3 languages ? Thanks
French, Japanese, German and Spanish. -
Nope. My son got A for Chinese but A* for English. He was offered 3 categories to choose from.
He opted for Jap first choice, French second. But system only accepts one choice per category.
So just chose Japanese -
Noted with thanks Morinosuke

If we indicate our first choice tat my child does not meet the COP (3 marks short) . And the rest of the 5 choices above the COP. Does it mean the system will auto assign the 2nd choice if 1st choice did not get in? Will the system allocate all the first choice first and maybe comes to our turn our second choice also filled up ? Not sure how the system allocate the school. Any idea ? Tks

The system will first sort everyone according to their t-scores first, and then go down the list one by one. The one with the highest score will get his/her first choice, followed by the 2nd top scorer and so on. This means that as long as your 2nd choice school is not the first or 2nd choice of students with t-scores higher than your child, your child should be able to get in. Anyone with t-scores lower than your child will be prioritised lower even if he/she specifies your second choice school as his/her first choice. -
So it does not mean that if the child whose COP is lower than my child and indicated the first choice will get the seat even though my child have a higher score and indicate the school as the second choice ? Tks

The ranking (based on t-score) of the child matters.
Those ranked higher gets to choose first, running through the order of his/her choice till the computer can assign the first one that clears the COP.
Everyone who's ranked lower waits for his/her turn. -

The only case this can happen is when the other child has a Confirmed Offer via DSA into that 2nd choice school. So no worries. -
Actually, my experience with my daughter’s t-score this year makes me appreciate the t-score system. She didn’t get any A* for any of her subjects, but still managed to get 249, which is way above my expectations. I suspect her raw scores for all her subjects must be quite close to A* for this to happen. Had this been based on the new AL system, she will probably be lumped into the 2nd or 3rd tier group with limited choices for secondary schools, since she has no AL1s.
