Mindays,
Thank you. -
Ksptan:
My question was directed to Minday on why he thinks the COP of EJC will hit double digits. I believe what he is saying is that irregardless of when EJC moves to its permanent side or have stellar A level result, its COP will still hit double digits.
EJC is not popular due to its temp school site, location and with no A level result track.
Once it has shifted to the new premise, more students will then take into consideration.
Even CHIJ st Nicholas O level track students are not attracted by EJC.
I am questioning his thought process on why he thinks this way.
EJC will be moving to its beautiful and ultra-modern permanent site in a year or two and I do not have any doubts that they will have good A level results, given the fact that the bulk of the cohort are top students from the 3 IP students.
we all know that number of students from CHS & SNGS (not sure about SCGS) who joined RJC via JAE dropped by almost half for 2017 intake, compared to 2016 intake.
2017 is the year when the 1st batch of IP students from CHS/SNGS/SCGS joined EJC. 2017 is also the year when RJC's COP for Science stream 'dropped' from 3 to 4. We all know why, don't we ?
Most of the top psle students from CHS/SNGS/SCGS IP would have joined RJC/HCJC (via JAE) had they sat for the O Level exam in 2016. These students are now in EJC (pioneer batch) and will be sitting for the A Level exam in 2018 -

So you saying you are the authority in weather forecast ? You forecast is more accurate that then Meterological Institute of Singapore ?? Where is the facts to support your assertion that 50% chance of precipitation ?
But your actions and challenging attitude seem to suggest that you have a bone to pick. If my weather forecast says that there is a 50% chance of precipitation, will I be surprised if it rains? Likewise, if there's a possibility of EJC's COP to increase (that would be double digit) or decrease, will I be surprised?
Likewise, where is the facts to support your assertion that EJC COP is going to be double digit ?? -

I did say that it was my 2 cents opinion after all. But, alright I take your point.[/quote]Was it your 2 cents opinion too when you said that TJC and RVHS does not deserve to be IP JC and that NYJC results is better than NJC and Dunman High?

Exactly, things change and in this dynamic world, everything is possible, so I have no idea why stetan has been harping on an absolute answer when we are so open to possibilities. Surprised? Nope
You could have forgotten that you were the one who asserted that EJC is worse than RVHS without a single shard credible evidence
How would you like if one were to go to VJC or NYJC thread and leave derogatory comments like what you have done. Like how my girls often remind me, if you have nothing nice to say, please don’t say. -
mindays:
Being in a dynamic world does not give you the license to assert a statement, without any supporting shreds of evidence.

A St Nic mum told me their O’level girls preferred to go NYJC because EJC at the Mt Sinai is too far for them. Hopefully, with Mt Sinai campus only as a temp site, the situation will improve over time.
When RJC just started, as a new JC, it’s A’level results lagged behind HCJC. See how things change.
The problem is that you have been doing this extremely frequently, making such statements in this forum that your credibility has somehow gone to the dogs.
Sure, we are open to possibilities, but not from you. -
I did not assert that TJC and RVHS are not fit to be IPJC. Yes, IMO they are underperforming but never did I once say that they are undeserving. That is very wrong. The discussion can go on and on, you can weasel your way here, you have the rights to be sceptical of my opinion but you cannot forcibly allow others to accept your viewpoint. As for COP, we shall see next year and who knows who will be getting the last laugh.
Stetan has also stated that
"we all know that number of students from CHS & SNGS (not sure about SCGS) who joined RJC via JAE dropped by almost half for 2017 intake, compared to 2016 intake. 2017 is the year when the 1st batch of IP students from CHS/SNGS/SCGS joined EJC. 2017 is also the year when RJC’s COP for Science stream ‘dropped’ from 3 to 4. Does he really know the exact reason why RJ’s COP has fallen to 4 from 3? Is it ONLY because of the "better students" that chose EJ over RJ? No, he doesn’t, that’s why he used the word "could". Speaking about facts, he knows none either. When I said that all things could be possible because of demand and supply, he harped on how accurate my "analysis" could be, when I made none. A possibility of an outcome is not an analysis. If you think it is, you are being over-sensitive.
There will always be the same pack of wolves appearing whenever such sensitive topics come into play. I rest my case and speak no more from here, this doesn’t mean I concede but I will refrain from entertaining this bunch of haters who are not receptive to opinions. -

Actually you did. If you have amnesia, suggests you go and read your posts on them again.mindays:
Nobody is forcing you to accept anything. I am just here to point out the falsehoods and FUD you were trying to create and spread. If you cannot accept that, its perfectly fine with me. Not that I am bothered. The discussion can go on and on, you can weasel your way here, you have the rights to be sceptical of my opinion but you cannot forcibly allow others to accept your viewpoint..

So you are putting your money down that TJC, RVHS and the 'undeserving IPJCs\" will have double digit COP next year. Please not claim to have amnesia again when we revisit this next year again, ok?As for COP, we shall see next year and who knows who will be getting the last laugh. .

Actually, I copied this analysis from iFirefly posts in response to your comment in the \"Secondary School Selection\" forum.
Stetan has also stated that

It could be true that it is not the ONLY reason 'better students\" choose EJ over RJ. But it is surely one of the main reason.
If you can think of other reasons why this happened, why not share it with us ?
Or are you going to again obliquely reference it, throw a few smoke bombs and expect your statement to be true ? mindays:
If you cannot logically defend your case and have to resort to name calling to hide your inadequacies, this really proves that what you have said is definitely without fact and substance. There will always be the same pack of wolves appearing whenever such sensitive topics come into play. You are again trying to play with words and wiggle yourself out. Go read your posts in the NYJC thread. You claimed that NYJC 'results\" were better than TJC and RVHS and thus TJS and RVHS is no better than a non-IP JC. As NYJC don't even publish detailed A level results breakdown (not sure why they do not), I was surprised how you even managed to come to that conclusion without supporting data.
did you also not say that NYJC 'results\" is better than NJC and Dunman High ? :scratchhead: -

Catchment would be for CHS and SNGS.
I can understand why current SCGS girls don't want to go EJC, coz likely a lot of them stay near SCGS which is the Bukit Timah-Holland area.
It is convenient for them to go to the temporary holding site at Mt Sinai Rd, but not the future permanent campus.
