I just realized, there are no Math books in the book list that we bought from Cedar school on the registration day last Friday. There should be Math books, shouldn't there? Anyone knows what Math book should we buy for IP express?

Generally there will be not many text books for IP students. But Sufficient notes will be distributed during lessons times. However, you can still use Sec 1,2 text books available in Popular Book store as a guide.

Yes, the handout papers list 4 days with detailed activities.

In that case, the activities on the 3rd & 4th days would be additional activities, with the first two days being the actual orientation.

Hi there....my daughter got into Cedar. We were surprised as she only got 250, but managed to get in. However, we are really worried that she will not be able to catch up. Will she be in the last class? And what are the classes like?

                :congrats: Rae4kids and kerryberry!!

My DD2 got 252. I didnt want her in Cedar bec I too was worried she will be stressed at being at the lower end of the cohort. However, she insisted on Cedar and she got in. May I ask, did your DD achieve her result using tuition? Mine did. I intend for her to go tuition free from sec 1 onwards. Even chinese. So kinda worried she may not cope.

She came home dead tired everyday. Dismissed at >4pm. I think it went on for 2 weeks. Some days she came back at 7pm. Meaning a 12 hr day. They have to choose a CCA during this period. Everyone had to audition for Track and Field according to her. We parents were then invited to witness them pin their ties and hear them cheer in the school hall. I think this is when all the orientation ends and proper school starts. Give them lots of sleep and water during this period! It will be physically demanding

Oh. One more thing. Found this out after 1 year. Lol. DD1 says they do a lot of running in Cedar. 3 times a week, 1.6km. So rem to buy for them proper running school shoes if you havent bought them yet. Should be too late now. Haha. DD1 reminded me her Bata schools all worned out in less than half a year…

Ah no. She didn't take any sorts of tuition at all for the whole of primary school. But she wants to start tuition for all subjects in either sec 1 or sec 2. Because she is worried she cant catch up,as she is the lower end of the cohort. Congrats to you n ur dd!
