I heard this year the initiation ceremony is held in the morning. No more in the evening? During my daughter's time it was in the evening. With the slightly dark evening background and followed by the \"pass the light\" thing, the feeling was so solemn.

There are two initiation ceremonies this year. The first (Batch Initiation) is today in the morning where senior buddies pin the school badge on the Year 1s. The second (RGS Initiation) is tomorrow evening, which includes \"pass the light\" thing...

      Ah.. I see :thankyou:
Welcome! šŸ˜„ . Actually I would prefer they combine both into one so that parents could also witness the pinning of the badge, which I heard was very touching... šŸ˜‰

It definitely was ! It was still like that in 2015 for my daughter.

But since the pinning of the badge is done by Y4s, I guess the school does not want the Y4s to stay late just for that, when they could spend the time revising or doing homework.
Hi,

My Kid is from Bedok North / chai chee. Any suggestion for transportation.

My girl use the school appointed school bus to school, and come back by public transport, but if you prefer can also take Bus 5 or 506 alight at Trellis Tower stop, change bus 105 to RGS. The reverse to come back home..

Hi wishbone, Thanks for the info. we will try this route. :thankyou:
Hi Tananya,
May I know has your DD tried taking Bus 5/506 -> Trellis Tower route ? What is the journey time ?
We stayed at East, and some times my DD goes to RGS from Bedok.

            Thanks.

Here too. School bus to school and down town line to come back. She prefers to choose direct line.

                    Hi all! šŸ™‚

I am an ex-RI, ex-RGS alumnus who just finished A Levels in 2017. I took the subject combination of BCME + GP in JC, and triple science + geography in secondary school. I am currently giving away/selling my older books at the link
https://tinyurl.com/chatterbox321secsch šŸ™‚ These were the books that my siblings and I bought/used, and thus would like to give away or sell at a reasonably low price to benefit others. All books are in very good, or reasonably good condition.

Meetups can be conducted to collect the books. Do message me for any enquiries, thank you! I will also be more than happy to answer any questions about subject combination/CCA/IP etc. to the best of my abilities!

I am currently waiting for my A Level results, and if any of you are keen for me to tutor you/your child please do feel free to contact me as well šŸ™‚ I am able to tutor primary school and lower secondary.
