My 2 nieces are from PLMGS. One in P6 and the other in Sec 2 this year. They are happy girls and don't seem to be stressed out academically. In addition, they are very active in the school CCA and most importantly, very balanced and well behaved girls.Heard some feedback that PLMG's students are not happy. Worried my gals will not b happy too so din consider.

I am new here and new as a parent who is looking for a primary sch. What is SAP? HIPS is a top sch, but why? can anyone advise? I am staying within less 1km to this sch. Have checked about this name, but itβs not a top 10 or even 20 based on performance, so why this sch is so hot?
I have 2 girls, born in 2005 and 2006, i have to start looking around or do some homework before the time comes.
thanks -

Are your nieces very good in their studies? Think my gal more sporty kind. Her Chinese is also not very good. Does PLMGS stress a lot on Chinese? Can help me find out? Thanks. -

You may want to check balloting history for all the schools. Hot school like Rosyth probably need balloting within 1km in phase 2B, then u got no chance at all. U can check Kiasu forum on Primary School balloting history. -

Tks, EatNonStop!
I'm kiasu, so decided to do PV for 2 schools - one school within 1km and the other within 2km. Now my choice :
1) Xinmin -<1km
2) Holy Innocent - 1-2km
3) Rosyth - 1-2km
Gave up on Nan Chiau cos too many new flats/Condos around that area, no chance at all. Actually, do we have to find out new/upcoming flats around the school to access probability of entering that particular school?
Pls advise on my choice of PVs and which 2 to select.
Greatly appreciated!

This is an interesting link http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=712 about school selection & preparation.
How old is your kid ?...PV regiseration starts NOW for 2010 registeration, 2011 intakes.
School distance is a very important factor in determining the chance in getting into the school. Would suggest you call Rosyth school for more details as it is known to be hot favorite and many parents opt to be PV. Priority might be given to Parents within 1km.
