I don't think there is anything else you can do. All other ways of increasing your chances require more time than you have. I think the information on MOE's website is quite detailed.

It very much depends on demand and supply. About 4 yrs ago, a friend of mine was able to register her son in the Junior school (Cairnhill) even though she was in Phase 2C (no affiliation, living more than 2km away, no balloting). I'm not sure that can happen every year. -

It is definitely getting more popular every year since then. ACSJ has since moved across the road to Winstedt Road by the way (the former Monk’s Hill Secondary campus). IMO it’s being managed very well by the current lady principal who was well-loved during her previous term at Fairfield Pri.I don't think there is anything else you can do. Balloting at <1km phase 2C for my DS Tiger year. -

I don't think you can register in a school outside your current constituency if you want to make use of GRL route in Phase 2B. For Phase 2C, out of the 3 schools in the area (ACPS, ACJS and SJIJ), only SJIJ is relatively safe if you move within 1 km from the school. ACPS is the most popular among them so your chance there would be the lowest. It's not impossible but it's high chance that you will go through the nerve-wrecking balloting.Dear all,
I am new here. My son was born in 2013. We are doing GRL at RC and fullfilled the requirement already. We are evaluating whether to move house to anywhere for school.
As we are within 1km to Mee Toh, I am thinking if move, I would like to make sure it is 100% secured in 2B. Would ACSJ 1km area a good choice?
Secondly, shall I move to somewhere that is within 1km to both ACSJ and ACSP and wait and see?
thanks for the advice!
If you can't decide yet, just get a place in the golden triangle which is within 1km from all 3 schools. -

I have read through this thread since page 40 ... and I kind of don’t understand why it was so drama like in the registration stage... last min withdraw & register again needs so well planned and luck...
I think I cannot manage that properly so thinking to confirm one school first to register
The more choices I have , maybe I will be more struggling to choose -

Anyway, I'm more like you, aim only for 1 school and prepare 1 backup school just in case. No drama. No withdrawal and re-registration. Safe the trouble. -
galaxyraider:
I agree with galaxyraider - have 1-2 backup schools which are \"safe\", and just monitor and the numbers and decide when your turn comes. Don't plan on running here and there if you don't want to. I don't know where you stay now, but just shortlist some safe schools within an acceptable distance.

Hi all, my situation is abit different. I am Singaporean but my sons are not SC. DS 1 is p1 in 2019 so we will have to register this year. However due to foreigner status we will not qualify till phase 3. Husband is ACS old boy. Wondering if we can go for acs international and later on (once PR is finalised) transfer to ACS (j or p) in p2 or later. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

The alumni status is only applicable to P1 registration and it is only specific to the school, so if your husband was from ACSJ, your son can only register to ACSJ in Phase 2A1 or 2A2. If your husband was from ACS secondary (either Barker or Independent) but had never attended any of the ACS primary schools, your son won't be eligible for Phase 2A at all.
In any case, nothing can be done since your son is not SC. I also believe you won't get any priority when you want to transfer him in P2 onward. -
if your son neither SC nor PR : he doesn’t qualify for Phase 2A1 nor 2A2, regardless of which primary school interested in.
If your husband neither studied in ACS Junior nor in ACS primary before, also don’t qualify for 2A1 nor 2A2 -

Hubby is from ACS Primary and then ACS Secondary. Yes I know, in any case the hurdle is the PR... I guess this year is abit late for my older son for P1 registration to secure spots in ACS or any school for that matter..
Regardless, my second son is born 2015 so by then we would have PR sorted and with hubby ACS pri old boy and alumni, hopefully he can secure a spot in ACSp at phase 2a (I know SC still have priority over PR, so that is still a hypothetical maybe). Thats why I'm hoping and praying older son can also go ACSp, both boys in same school better than different school....
