[quote=\"KoalaMummy\"]This year, I heard so many good news about EAE. seems much easier to get through EAE now...
The results are out? -
with all this EAE and PFP thing, it's really confusing.
for PFP, it has to be A2 minimum for every subject to get below 11 points for NA students
what about EAE?
some of son classmates last year (2016) secured EAE for certain courses into Ngee Ann and SP. but do students who wish to apply for EAE come from Express stream? -

As a parent of two kids, issues affecting Polytechnic students and graduates are important issues to me because, at this moment, I still lie behind the Rawlsian veil. I am concerned that if my children do not qualify for a seat in a local university and end up studying in a Polytechnic/ITE, they will face an uncertain future with the gig economy.
I think many parents have this fear but they are too ashamed to admit it because it hurts the feelings of 50% of their friends. Also, there is nothing fundamentally wrong with turning out average. It's only wrong in a place like Singapore.
I echoed my fears and shared my deepest concerns with a friend I know, whom in my opinion, is best positioned to address my fears because he is very successful in business, lectured in polytechnics, and is intimately close with the problem at hand. He is a straight-talking fellow to add.
In summary, the conversation left me more shaken than before.
I asked my friend, why not put two and two together and have Singapore's startup eco-system draw their recruits primarily from Polytechnics, specifically poly graduates who are not going into local universities, instead of waging a price war for local university graduates?

I know International Business in ngee Ann poly is one of the hardest to get into, a lot of single pointers there.

Although some courses may have low cut offs, it may not necessarily mean it is a good course, some are just very popular because they seem fun, for example Mass comm, may not necessarily be that good in terms of job demand in the future

The course isnt offered any more. They have changed it to international trade. The cut-off is 10 this year. -
My daughter is aiming to become a psychiatrist. We are exploring the options to 1) JC or 2) Polytechnic. I understand that she needs to go to medical school and complete her basic degree then she will proceed with her Master Doc degree.
I would like to find out if she opts for Poly route, which course should she take to apply for NUS/NTU Medical program.
TIA! -

I wonder if you want to try for the EAE, and you do not have relevant subjects that you are currently taking that is related to the course you want to enter via EAE, do this means that one would have a lower chance of getting into the course via EAE? Like example, if one wants to enter Accounting course via EAE, but you do not take POA as one of your subjects, does this mean that it will lower your chance as you do not have any chance to participate in any of relevant to the accounting course?
Last year my sister's neighbor EAE into Poly Accounting course, he didn't take POA in Secondary. -
Hi Everyone ! :imanisland:
Not too sure if there are other separate threads with regards to the above subject, if yes, do help to direct me there yeah
Just wondering, anyone's dd or ds applied under EAE to Polytechnic recently?
If yes, wanna share share experiences together?
My DD recently applied for Life Science courses for NP, SP & NYP.
Got shortlisted for interview to NP next week :xedfingers: Any pointers to share to prepare for the interview?
Whereas for SP, she received an email to attend a Mass Screening Session this coming Friday (to be followed by interview after that). Wonder what this Mass Screening is about. :scratchhead:
So anyways, if anyone has anything to share about EAE or about our 2002 kiddoes, come let's chat here !
Thanks in Advanced !
