Perhaps they can replay the recorded lecture videos on the EJC portal.

I'm sure Chief Kiasu will help...

Come to think of it, I think \" Eunoia\" should be in the Spelling Bee List.... 😄

HAHA quite true. I myself spell it wrong at times.

Very unique word. There is only 1 consonant in Eunoia and all the vowels of the alphabet is there.

:rahrah: Congrats to EJC for emerging Champions in the 8th Asean Quiz (Singapore) ! :rahrah:

\"Making history as Champions of History — in this case the 8th ASEAN Quiz (Singapore) endorsed by the ASEAN-COCI. We’re all seriously proud of both teams that took part and shone brightly. Well done, Justin, Mickel, Ray (17-I1) and Wen Shuen, Sylvia and Zi Hao (17-U1)! The winning team from U1 will be representing Singapore at the regional quiz in Bali later this year!\"

Congrats to EJC for their fine performance at the EW Barker Challenge

Muscle and mettle, brains and brawn, @ejcodac has it all. Two teams of our JC1 ODACers emerged 1st and 2nd runners-up at the 2018 EW Barker Challenge at NIE. They pulled, they climbed and they flexed their tremendous team spirit — well done Alastair, Marilyn, Elena, Nevin, Joel, Xuan Ling, Shih Ern and Boh Shin

                  Hi

I would like to know about the criteria for the Subject Combinations in EJC.

I’d managed to download their subject combinations thru the school website.
However, I’d like to know more of the criteria which the IP students need to meet in order
to be selected for their chosen subject combinations.

Does anyone has any idea here ?

Hello there, my daughter is currently a JC1 in another JC.

She took her ‘O’ Levels last year and got 14 points raw, nett is 10 points. Overall, she did well for her languages, but under-performed slightly for her mathematics and humanities. Her sciences were also under-performed as well.

She went to a JC nearby our house (one of the merging colleges), but she is not happy there as many of the students there are often very sarcastic towards her not taking H1 Chinese as she is one of the very few in her class that doesn’t take H1 Chinese and the school does not value Chinese at all. Not just so, her H2 Physics tutor is really rude and biased towards students who fared well for their ‘O’s and also mid years. She is thinking of transferring to EJC as she really likes the new campus that will be opened in 2020.

She doesn’t mind re-doing JC1 at EJC as she hasn’t done well at all at her current school. She is also currently a member of the Students’ Council.

What do you think? Is it worth for her to transfer over to EJC who’s L1R5 aggregate is more compatible to hers and redo her JC1 studies?
Or is it possible to pass her promotion criteria in her current college and transfer to JC2 in EJC?

                    Please advise.

                        Hi genevaong,

Best to write email to Principal EJC / VP Academic, inquire if got any vacancy , or need to sit for any entrance test in core (key) subjects for current level, JC 1 level ? Perhaps results of her entrance tests may determine if she need to repeat 2019 JC1, or not. If no need, means admission into 2019 JC2 via Transfer, directly.

Also, as her Raw score (L1R5) was 14, while Net score was 10 : assuming if there is indeed a vacancy for Transfer, clarify with them, what subject combination your girl will be eligible for ?

                        Eg
Will she be allowed to take 4 H2 A-level subjects, or only (3 H2, 1 H1), because her original raw score (L1R5) was 14, not 10, and is she coming into EJC, for Arts or Science stream ? Cut-off point for Eunoia 2018 JC1 intake was 11 for Arts, 10 points for Science stream.

All these, best to seek clarification out-front, with VP (Academic). Whether or not got vacancy at this point in time, EJC will also get back to you.

In the event there is no vacancy, or vacancy arises but the subject combination is not 4 H2 while your girl is currently already studying (pursuing) 4 H2 subjects in her current merged JC : perhaps a feasible work-around alternative solution is, see whether it is possible to Transfer her to another JC1 class, within her current JC. Have a word with her Form Tr. Also ask Form Tr whether or not in her capacity as a Form Tr, is it possible to stop others in class diplomatically, from mocking (poking fun) at her out of jealousy (because her class need to do one more extra subject Chinese than her, at JC1 level), over this JC1 level not taking Chinese, as she had already taken HCL at Sec 4, last year.

Actually, humiliation through verbal abuse is also a Form of bully. There are 2 types of bully : through physical abuse, & also through verbal abuse. The Disciplinary Mistress (Master) in her current JC should stop all these verbal abuse, by humiliating fellow students verbally. Her classmates should not de-mean her, through words spoken out of spite (jealousy).

If she were to Transfer to another class within her current same JC, will it be another better Physics lecturer, teaching her ?
