Hi deardear, you are too nice - since the MS tutor writes those feedback, make an appointment to facetime him/her, with the script as an example, asks the tutor to explain to you what makes a technique. 🤷 I Always do this sorta thing (school/enrichment), so my kids don't get away with bad work ethics & teachers/tutors have no issue managing them. If the fit isn't 'made in heaven', we'd also make prompt changes (change time slot...), no time wasted.

Sky made a very good point - talk to the teacher. Ask your child if teacher taught techniques in class (or given notes like TLL) and ask the teacher abt the comments written & if it's been taught & guided to child (as in not just bla, bla, bla to child) but each topic try out highlight critical words in the qn & help child note what is the key word/concept for the topic/qn and how else to start answering the OE qn with what phrases, processes & whether the teacher noted the child hv a good grasp of the topic.

Ano thing brot to mind fr Sky's sharing - check ard with frds who recommended u MS as to which teacher is most competent in the subj of the level. We almost gave up on TLL bcoz the Eng & Sc teachers were hopeless tho the Math teacher barely acceptable, till a frd started sharing the go-to experienced teacher. Even in the same centre, you'll find staff who do not teach well or competent in teaching the subj(s).

Hope the suggestion works for MS centre, unless they can't even find a competent teacher for the sub.

Thanks! I read through his papers so far and I think I have to speak to that tr soon... his answers are there so just the answering technique, with specific words to be used. I even questioned my ds if any specific method was taught to him but he seems to say no... the materials are good but if the tr isn't teaching the method to answer, no matter how good the child is able to understand the topic, he will not score as well as should.

But, that being said... does anyone know if MS does teach method of answering? Does anyone know? I just want to be clear if it's the teacher issue or is it my ds not listening...
