What is the different between 阻拦 and 阻止?

A)我军奋力作战， 终于阻拦了敌人的进攻。
B) 看见同学们打破了窗户却想逃跑， 我连忙上前阻拦。
哪个句子是正确的?

B):
‘阻拦’ 是用肢体，强硬，具体地防止前进。
‘阻止’ 只是防止某种动作，没这么强烈。
敌人这么多，无法一一用肢体拦下来。
