Hi all,

With the phrase 1 results out, i am not sure which school to apply for my kid especially dragon year under Phrase 2C.
      1) Kong Hwa (within 1 KM)
      2) Geylang Methodist (1KM to 2 KM)
      3) Haig Girls ( More than 2 KM)

All above 3 choices, seem like less chances for Phrase 2 C. For Kong Hwa , it is even worse to get into ballot with so many kids trying to apply.

      Can someone advise me???

Such cases usually is depend on the Principal's decision. Can try even if u r a trainee who koes u have favor with the P.

i agree...it's worth asking the principal since the parent will be a teacher in the school until NIE training.
if the parent does a good job before NIE, the principal may ask for him/her to be posted back to the school. principals have quite a bit of power to do so.

It depends on your risk appetite lor. If you want to join the balloting for Kong Hwa, just join. Then Haig Girls will be your backup school for 2C Supp.

If u don’t wish to ballot at all, then go straight for GMPS at 2C. There is an affiliated secondary school, which cuts the stress at PSLE.

If u prefer non-Christian school or prefer all-girls school, apply to Haig Girls at 2C.

All 3 have higher take up in phase 1. GMPS should be still safe for 1-2km. Haig may not have much vacancies left for 2Cs. Kong Hwa should be a tough one. Need the latter phase to confirm.
...Contemplating trying for CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace (8-9km away but in 2C relatively much lower risk)

                Any thoughts/ suggestions? :?: :?:

Isn't CHIJ Kellock nearer? Why don't you consider this school instead of CHIJ OLQP?

CHIJ kellock is currently at holding location, 121 Queensway S(149059) [Former New Town Secondary School] due to upgrading. It will relocate back to 1 Bukit Teresa Road S(099757) in December 2018.
If register under 2C, distance wise will be out.
Actually both chij Kellock and queen lady of peace would be out of 2km zone. But feels like the odds of getting in is higher then hps 1km ballot with the expected rush of applicants? I see that previous years it just indicates green for both these two schools for 2c. Vs hps red with high risk. Any idea? Thanks for feedback!

Chances of getting into either Kellock or OLQP are higher than Henry Park which is in the red for balloting within 1km for SC.

Thanks for that input. So it is the correct way to read the table? Red for previous years high chance of ballot (wd say definite) and its actually “safer” to go for a green over subscription risk school thou outside of 2km vs red within 1km?

                        Hi,

Im new to this forum and im in a tight dilemna. I have alumni with Kuo Chuan and need to travel less than 35mins via CCL to get to the school. I have 2 schools within 15-20mins which are Queenstown or NewTown. Other better schools not at option for me as I am within 1-2km so not chance in balloting. i also have another child born in 2015. :?

I am thinking to put my child in KCPS but Im just concerned the travelling be too much but i do not have good options nearby.
