zac's mum:
Don't know why it's different from ACSJ website. ACSJ is more and more popular.J13:
Hi, was there balloting for phase 2C, SC, <1km, ACS (Junior) last year?
No. Last year’s balloting was for 1-2km category. The link is here: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/central/
http://acsj.moe.edu.sg/qql/slot/u188/docs/Announcements/P1_Intake_2014_to_2017.pdf -
momi:
any update on the numbers today for phase 2A?
https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/primary-one-registration/vacancies
ACSP has 42 seats left for Phase 2A(2)
ASCJ has 63 seats left for Phase 2A(2) -
Thanks galaxyraider. Usually 2a2 will increase by how much? Any predictions?
Hoping for the best ! Super worried and nervous… -
galaxyraider:
Both ACS Junior & ACS primary are popular schools, but they are Not full schools (ACS have different, separate Principal, for primary & Secondary school section), hence no balloting arose in Phase 2A1 : still left-over 42 seats (ACSP) and 63 seats (ACSP), for 2A2.
https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/primary-one-registration/vacancies
ACSP has 42 seats left for Phase 2A(2)
ASCJ has 63 seats left for Phase 2A(2)
In contrast, full schools like Catholic High Junior and St Nick encountered 2A1 balloting. -
momi:
No predictions, but the available seats for 2A2 had declined sharply.Thanks galaxyraider. Usually 2a2 will increase by how much? Any predictions?

Seats for 2A2
2015: 129 -> 23 applicants -> 73 seats available for 2B
2016: 98 -> 22 applicants -> 58 seats available for 2B
2017: 89 -> 30 applicants -> 50 seats available for 2B
2018: 63 -> Assuming there are 30 applicants -> Only 37 seats available for 2B
As you can see, the available seats for 2B had decreased sharply. In average (based on the past 3 years) there are 40 applicants <1km, so the probability for balloting within this group is high. Can you imagine if the number of applicants in 2A2 also goes up?
You can refer to this link to see the data for the past 3 years: http://acsj.moe.edu.sg/qql/slot/u188/docs/Announcements/P1_Intake_2014_to_2017.pdf -
Thank you for the details !! Appreciate that. Well, just have to keep my fingers crossed that the numbers won’t be too high for 2a2…

Which Phase will you be in? Which distance group? -
2C <1km. The numbers are out.
Btw, anyone can advice if the sch will update the numbers on the board during registration days? How can we monitor the “live” number of applicants (by distance)?
TIA! -

Good luck! I was in your situation 2 years ago.2C <1km. The numbers are out.

ACSJ will put the numbers on a white board in the registration room at the end of the morning session. If u want a “live” update, just pick a chair near the front of the room and prick up your ears as each applicant approaches the counter lol.
Or, you can interrupt the busy staff and ask for periodic updates. Use your discretion lah, don’t disturb them more than necessary.
I do not know if ACSP has provided updates in recent years. Two years ago, they did not. -
zac's mum:
Both ACSJ and ACSP admin staff will update the white board from time to time, but might not be \"real time\" as they will update only when they are free.

For ACSJ, there are only 21 applicants in 2A2, so the balance of 42 seats will be divided by 2 and allocated to 2B and 2C. It means there will be 41 seats in both phases, which is extremely low compared to previous years. Balloting for <1km in 2B is possible, but in 2C I can say that it's definite.
