If the child 1 falls out of the 1st choice of school A at phase 2B,

Parent will go for phase 2C for school B ( Hm Distance <1km)

The child 2 only has choice of school at Phase 2C for school B. (Hm Distance <1 km)

Question:
Are both child 1 & child 2 having the same chance to get the choice of school B at phase 2C ? OR child 2 has pirioty to get the school B???

Anyone can advise abt schools in Punggol? Sorry abit kiasu here... planning for a backup plan for Phase 2CS just in case... Greendale Pri is just next to my place, but it's the least popular school in punggol, based on the registration statistics... Should i just go for it for convenience or consider the 2 other newer schools (Oasis/Waterway Pri) that are also within 1km?

My gut feel is Oasis will not go into P2Cs. At 2Cs, you just have to go to the nearest available school.

Phase 2C, < 1km = both same chance / same priority.

Both schools' catchment area overlap with Horizon and Mee Toh, as well as Punggol View (another popular school with a very popular MK). I suspect, however, that a significant number of parents may decide the safer option of using MK priority in P2A2, rather than face the uncertainty of balloting in Horizon and Mee Toh (<1km) in a Dragon year.

i can see that from YR2015 the balloting for 2c is falling into only 104-105% in SC2km category from very high 170-180% in SC1KM category in previous years.

is there anyone wondering the reason behind this significant change? any chance that the balloting result will go back to high risk in future

Toa Payoh is an aging estate with very few new developments within 1 km of Pei Chun. Hence, such a trend is partly to be expected due to demographics changes. Most of the new housing developments in Toa Payoh are in Potong Pasir / Woodleigh / Toa Payoh Rise / Toa Payoh West... all 1 to 2km from Pei Chun. Difficult to see where the reversal in such a trend can come from in future.

Not to mention, Kheng Cheng is a very similar school and it draws from the same catchment area as Pei Chun. Parents who are risk averse and dislike balloting can choose that school as a safe option.

Hello Parents, Apologies in advance if this question sounds very newbie but I’ve been working overseas for a long time and have only 1 child, so no experience whatsoever in such matters.


Do I need an authorisation letter from my wife if I’m to register our child at my wife’s alumni school pri school? Or authorisation letter is only for non-parents registering the child?
