2020 P1 Registration Exercise for 2021 In-take

No, they both have the exact same chance at balloting in Phase 2B. It's just that if there is less PV, of course the chance for GRLs would be higher.
Do you mean PV has higher priority than GRL? Does this apply for all schools?Missus_lim:
Those interested in NYPS, registration for their PV (babies born in 2014) has started. Good luck!
Based on historical stats, if you aren’t SC (within 1km), your chances of being selected is very Low. A few GRL had it going for them this year (2011 babies) when there were fewer than 20 PV and sufficient vacancies for those who applied. No balloting for P2B at NYPS this year. :rahrah:

Hi Parents
My daughter falls in the 2021 intake. I have plan to rent a house within 1km to NYPS and try for phase 2C. Another option is to stay at my brother-in-law house which is < 1km to NHPS, also 2C. Please advise which is a better choice to try my luck and what are the backup for phase 2Cs? Thanks so much for any advice. -

if you use relative (your bro in law) house to apply for Nan Hua under statutory declaration, provided you able to meet all criteria stated there, it will land u under (1 to 2 km ) distance bracket.
As you know, under Phase 2C : all SC applying for Nan Hua less than 1 km, must ballot.
Since you are outside 1 km, assuming you use your bro in law address, that means you have missed the chance to even ballot. -
Thanks phtthp. I will not be using Statutory Declaration but will move to stay in his house. Any chance for 2C < 1km.

I believe if you move in and update your NRIC, you should be able to ballot if the address is <1km. -
Thanks galaxyraider. How about NYPS? Which is a better choice?

Both schools will require balloting for SC < 1km.
If you rent / move to be within 1km, you will be tied down to your address for 30 months.
Unfortunately, the odds of you not getting a place in either of the two schools is probably higher than the odds of getting a place. Therefore, they are both bad options in order to 'try your luck'.
IMHO, if you are willing to spend real money and make all those efforts, you would want something that's more or less guaranteed - rather that try your luck with less than 33% winning odds. -
Thanks Floppy for your advice
