Hi parents, does anyone have an analysis of the current situation for Bedok and Tampines area? We are <1KM from Yu Neng, RSS, but only considering trying Yu Neng for the 2C phase because my child prefers a smaller cohort (eg. 180 vs 240). Our choices for 2Cs are Yumin, Tampines, TanjongKatong and Telok Kurau (all of which are > 2KM). At the moment we are still not sure if we want to enter the balloting craze in 2C, or try another school in our >2KM list. Any thoughts are appreciated. 😄

The situation at Yu Neng and Red Swastika is real crazy. Even in other competitive years, it was never so bad 😂 Two primary schools just across the road from one another but left with only 20 / 20 places each for both Phase 2B / 2C. Talk about between a rock and a hard place for applicants living within 1km

I think it may be wiser to consider another school between 1 to 2km rather than balloting for either schools at <1km in Phase 2C. After all, there will be a total of 40 happy folks and maybe a 100+ unhappy folks who will face-off against one another again in 2CS.

Going for 2A2 instead of phase 1 means elder sibling graduated.

Hi, anyone knows if PV expires?

I did PV for a popular school so my elder son was entitled for phase 2B. My younger son therefore can register under phase 2A-2 for year 2020 intake. However look at the situation this year, if he is not lucky enough to get a seat in phase 2A, can he be entitled for 2B using the same PV we did long time ago?

If your elder son is still in the school, your younger son will get in under Phase 1. No need to ballot at all. How old is your elder son now?

:xedfingers: Hopefully Maha Bodhi 2C 1-2km no need ballot!

It seems that Maha Bodhi has only about 28 vacancies for 2C. its likely to ballot <1km... you may not get a chance to ballot

Actually i'm going for Poi Ching under 2B. 2C Maha Bodhi is just to see if can get in so that is nearer to my mum place.

We are deciding either Gongshang which is <1km from our new home vs. St. Hilda's which is within 2km. Looking at the current stats right now, should we go for St. Hilda's instead? We are under phase 2C and we'll be using the New Flat scheme since our new home will only be ready by 2020. Hope to get some insightful feedback from other parents. 🙂

Based on the current stats, you will never stand a chance to ballot for St Hilda so that's a non-starter.

As for Gongshang, it will only be 20 places +whatever is left over from Phase 2B. You will have to standby a Phase 2CS option. Good luck :xedfingers:

St Hilda’s historically ALWAYS has balloting for <1km, so u have zero chance there.

Gongshang historically also ALWAYS has balloting for <1km. U can join the balloting, but please, start thinking about which backup school for 2C(S) you are happy to live with. I can’t advise about those as I don’t live in that area.

There’s also a chance that you may have to ballot in phase 2C(S) If you choose to ballot at 2C. This dragon year is really filling all the hot and the semi-hot schools. Do consider carefully.

Hoping for pei chun initially at phase 2c. With the turn out for pei chun for 2A2...look like pei chun is completely out as i am within 1 to 2km (using caregiver address though caregiver staying <1km from pei chun). Don't even stand a chance to ballot.

2nd choice will be keng cheng. Crossing fingers to bet on kheng cheng now. 1st child(girl) registering for P1...don't know what are my other choices.
