Hoping for pei chun initially at phase 2c. With the turn out for pei chun for 2A2...look like pei chun is completely out as i am within 1 to 2km (using caregiver address though caregiver staying <1km from pei chun). Don't even stand a chance to ballot.

2nd choice will be keng cheng. Crossing fingers to bet on kheng cheng now. 1st child(girl) registering for P1...don't know what are my other choices.[/quote]Sad to say, you (1 to 2km) are on a very tight rope for Kheng Cheng.
Both Pei Chun and Kheng Cheng are having less places available for Phase 2B / 2C when compared to other years. If parents, (within 1km) who are risk adverse, start shifting their target from Pei Chun to Kheng Cheng, Kheng Cheng may have to go into balloting for 1 to 2km (high possibility) or 1km (unlikely but not impossible).

For a girl, you are lucky because Marymount Convent is an available option to have in 2CS. Unfortunately, if you have to KIV a place for a boy, you may have to do this exercise all over again when his time comes for registration.

Hi parents, does anyone have an analysis of the current situation for Bedok and Tampines area? We are <1KM from Yu Neng, RSS, but only considering trying Yu Neng for the 2C phase because my child prefers a smaller cohort (eg. 180 vs 240). Our choices for 2Cs are Yumin, Tampines, TanjongKatong and Telok Kurau (all of which are > 2KM). At the moment we are still not sure if we want to enter the balloting craze in 2C, or try another school in our >2KM list. Any thoughts are appreciated.

The situation at Yu Neng and Red Swastika is real crazy. Even in other competitive years, it was never so bad Two primary schools just across the road from one another but left with only 20 / 20 places each for both Phase 2B / 2C. Talk about between a rock and a hard place for applicants living within 1km :evil:

I think it may be wiser to consider another school between 1 to 2km rather than balloting for either schools at <1km in Phase 2C. After all, there will be a total of 40 happy folks and maybe a 100+ unhappy folks who will face-off against one another again in 2CS.

We aren't keen on any of the schools between 1-2KM though for whatever reasons. So :xedfingers:

are you within 1km of kheng cheng or 1-2km?
i havent look at the catchment area of the pei chun and kheng cheng and CHIJ tpy. For the past 3 years, All SCs whichever distance was safe and Kheng Cheng also has a traditional low application for phase 2B.

one way is to look for a backup plan in 2Cs and stick to Kheng Cheng for 2C.

anyway before i kill myself by pulling records for the tampines, here is a brief view of your plan:

it get across 3 area, the analysis is going to be wider and alot of moving target especially this year.

at the moment red swastika and yu neng potentially is 2.5 applicants per vacancy. (although since the risk is high and people may opt for backup choice under 2C)

your backup for tampines primary is out as it should be filled up by 2C (whether by SC or PR), Yumin is abit too tight for 2Cs, so another balloting. Telok Kurau should be fine but this year intake is 240 not 180. Tanjong Katong also seems alright for now.

No choice but to stick your head out and hope for a chance at the ballot in Kheng Cheng. Do keep a look out in case there’s a high turn of SC < 1km resulting in zero chance for > 1km.

The only nearby co-ed options with places for 2C and 2CS are First Toa Payoh and Guangyang (in Bishan).
