It seems some schools are willing to provide the distance information while others will give the official line about waiting for MOE website. I feel all schools should publish the distance information so it’s fair for all. After all, it’s good for everyone. If numbers are clear, parents could make a better decision and there would be less balloting too.

      Totally agreed with u!!

          I also agree
It should be standard to show the numbers so that parents can make an informed decision
I cannot understand why some schools are so secretive about the numbers...
For example if I am grassroots and know that my ballot chances at school A are very risky, I may choose to register at school B instead even if it's my second choice

          Totally agree!
I just called up the sch they refused to tell me also...

Would the school call up the parents to advice them to withdraw assuming that they are no longer eligible for the distance category?

I know they used to do that but i’m not so sure in recent years

No they won’t. My friend kenah wasted her chance becos they never informed her. School too busy to call lah. Especially phase 2C very overwhelming numbers.

Some schools still try to call and inform parents to do their withdrawal if they definitely don't stand a chance. However, a lot depends on the school itself - goodwill and whether there are enough manpower to handle it.

Therefore, a good reason why parents should stop calling the school on / off to ask for updates.

I guess if they have the time... perhaps its a good thing you are not receiving any calls at this point in time meaning its good news.... 😂

Depends on sch. I heard ncps called those above 1km yesterday to withdraw.
