Some of the moe rules are very vague to be honest. I played by the rules but found out that my rental place got a serious problem. By the end of rental contract, i will want to move away to another rental location within the same distance category.

The moe officer give a standard email robot response and it took me a bit of digging on my own on moe ecitizen website to find out its really okay to change address as long as it still fulfils the distance requirements used to register.

Seriously speaking, it was already so tough for me to find out all these stuff, i have no idea whether those aunty uncles that are not so educated can navigate through this nightmare. So glad its over for me.
There's no problem so long as your new address is within 1km category if yr child gotten thro 1km, or respective category. Inform the school asap with your new address after registering with the police post. Ensure u're staying up to 30 mths fr yr child's enrollment. You shld be OK.

Is there any one here working in MOE HQ. Possible to share how is the new balloting at HQ done?

        - Is it a press of a button by an IT personnel?
        - Who are the witnesses physically around during the balloting process? Principal? Officers?
        - Any SOP and auditors around to ensure that the process is fair and just? Or is it \"onself check oneself\".

More clarity should be made available to the public.

You are absolutely right. These can be easily rigged because there is no third party witness. To be 100% impartial, rolling the ball still the best even if it more stressful, nobody can argue it was unfair as it is done in front of everyone.

Not to mention computer randomization is not truly random but only simulated. Depending on what kind of random simulation they used, my goodness, certain numbers can be more favoured than others especially if they used a system thats based on computer clock. Ie, fixed numbers chosen depending on what time it is. All this info only moe themselves will know. Theres a serious lack of transparency in our system.

I also had some of the same concerns about transparency of the computerized balloting system.

However after speaking to friends who work in civil service, they were very sure its closely audited and not possible to \"rig/pull strings\". They said everything in civil service is very closely audited with paper trial.

          Hi All,

          We live within 1km from
          1. West Spring Pri
          2. Zenghua Pri
          3. Greenridge Pri
          4. Southview Pri

          and within 2km from
          1. Bukit Panjang Pri
          2. CHIJ OLQP

we are Singapore Citizens and only eligible under Phase 2C for our daughter.

Looking at the TUR of all these schools, South View seems sure for Balloting. We need your help to choose between West Spring Pri and Bukit Panjang Pri.

          Your advice is highly appreciated.

          Thank you,
          Jai
I will monitor to check hw many apply is within 1km and may risk for south view if not more than 20 within 1km else will pick bpps but aso will check for chances tat enter ballot for more than 2km…
Lastly will try for zhenghua / greenridge instead of west spring 🙂 coz alot bto near west spring so chances may affected too…

You can do it 2 ways:
              - if u wanna try ballot, apply for NCPS at phase 2C. You will definitely get a chance to ballot, since u are lucky to live <1km
              - if u don’t wanna try ballot, apply to whichever school <1km that has the most number of places left on the last day.

                If I were you,

                2C
Nan Chiau. Ballot also should give it a shot especially since within 1km. Plus you have 3 other schools as backup for 2CS if unfortunately didn't get.

Cloudy, hard to tell chance high coz depends on number of applicants also. See Northland last year 200 fight for 50 places. :nailbite:

But I would say still worth the fight. 😄

Thot NCPS shld left only 20 places in P2C as P2B has seems to have 67 fighting for 53 places? Correct me if Im wrong as my cousin asking me the same qn too. She said if only left 20 then will go for Springdale Pri.

Have some time this morning, so called moe hotline.

                        Confirmed.
If no priority is used, 30 months is not required.
(Ie. Applicants less than required place = no priority used since all got in)

I don’t “ suka suka” make statesments or change MOE rules without telling them.

                        Hope this info helps.
