I need to know the outcome fast, so that can decide which student care to enroll my child in. Been shopping around, and itโ€™s scary how kiasu parents are. Some student cares are already full for next year P1 intake.

Wow is that so? When I was considering RGPS the student care there does not accept registration until late in the year sometime in November! And itโ€™s not about being kiasu but seeking a real solution to working parents and juggling Primary school children! ๐Ÿ™‚

The current student care my 2 elder kids are in is already full. I'm shifting houses end of the year, and went to the new area to look around. Checked with 3 centers, 1 is full, 1 has 4 slots left, and 1 just tell me they still have space.
I have a friend who submitted her registration late last year, for 2019 intake.

For some of us, it's the first time our kids are going to P1... naturally we will feel anxious...

Well, i guess that's the reason we are in this KiasuParents forum ๐Ÿ˜‚
I joined this forum to learn more about p1 registration for my #2. we planned to register her in my former school and wanted to find out the chances since we stay more than 2km away. it's risky since we were giving up a place in phase 1.

Asking about Yangzheng primary, do you think phase 2C will ballot for SC <1km?

Need some advice from fellow gurus on which school to reg for 2C for my son:

                  Within 1km
                  - Punggol Green (76 slots left)
                  - Punggol View (96 slots left)

                  Within 2km
                  - Mee Toh (37 slots left)
                  - Horizon (99 slots left)

We are SC. We like Mee Toh but with only 37 slots, it seems very low chance for us to get in so left with Horizon, Punggol Green and Punggol View. How will fellow gurus choose?
                  You see... https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/2018-p1-registration-oversubscription-risk/ and https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/punggol/...

Risk level from high to low monitor from 2016 for phase 2C : Punggol Green -> Mee Toh -> Horizon -> Punggol View ...
I monitor from 2016 batch cos that's when I registered my #1... I registered her for Punggol Green... 200+ registered with 100+ vacancies and all 200+ who registered are SC <1km wor.... yes... I failed the ballot... don't underestimate Punggol Green popularity...

I think itโ€™s bad luck (or maybe the authorities poor planning).

Prior to 2015, Punggol Green wasnโ€™t a popular option. Unfortunately, Iโ€™m 2015 / 2016, projects like Twin Waterfalls / Ecopolitan and the first phase of development at Matilda TOP. For some of the projects in Matilda, Punggol Green is the only school within 1km (Springdale is also within 1km but you will have to cross the expressway to Sengkang). Given that Matilda is close to fully developed, I believe it is possible that demand for Punggol Green will spike further.

Hi, i think you got the slots for Phase 2C wrongly. Mee Toh (360 total vacancies-(195+66) taken up at Phase1/2A1/2+Phase2B) should have 99 slots left for Phase 2C. Nevertheless, for the pass few years, there has always been balloting for Mee Toh <1km. Maybe can monitor the numbers during the last day?

No need to monitor lah. I can say with 99.9% certainty that balloting for both Mee Toh and Horizon will occur for applicants < 1km. Hence, no need to waste time thinking about it. That leaves you with Punggol Green and Punggol View. You will have to monitor and decide which one is more convenient / comfortable for you.

While both schools might go into balloting for < 1km, there is a higher possibility that Punggol View might not, as it is now competing with newer schools like Punggol Cove, Oasis and Waterway (besides Mee Toh and Horizon) in the same < 1km group. For those living on Matilda side, they have only Punggol Green (and Springdale in Sengkang) as the school < 1km. Hence, I expect competition to be keener for Punggol Green (lesser places left + many people have no other choices for <1km).[/quote]My house distance is same as stylocool, Mee Toh fall under 1-2 km for me while Punggol View/Green <1 km, if i want to avoid balloting, issit safe to go Waterway straightaway? Should be quite safe even though its 1-2 km from my place right? ๐Ÿ˜“

I think parents going through phase 2B are facing an agonising wait for the balloting results.

Iโ€™m wondering now that the balloting process if fully computerised and done at back end, why is there a need to wait almost a week for the results.

I can understand previously when it was conducted manually at the school as the staff has multiple logistics to prepare for the ballo like ball number assigned to atudent name/number etc etc
Maybe someone can feedback to MOE on this.
I had the same question, too. We applied for phase 2A1 on 4 Jul. We had to wait till the following Monday 9 Jul to receive the sms. Then, when we received the physical posted letter, I realized the date on the letter was 6 Jul! Just wondering why they did not sms on 6 Jul as I remembered how I dragged through that weekend (and later I found out my in laws had sleepless nights, too) and I was trying all means to keep my mind occupied with other stuff so as to distract myself from worrying too much. But, by Sunday night, I started to get all jittery and hardly slept until the sms came on Monday morning.
