2018 P1 registration exercise for 2019 intake

St Gabriel’s is a surprise this year. It could be due to Maris Stella having to ballot for <1km and those 1-2km went over to St Gabriel’s. Those who failed balloting in MS may have to look for another school elsewhere is 2CS.

Anyone has the breakdown stats for Kuo Chuan Presbyterian pls?
-
Hi…anyone got a breakdown of Haig Girls Primary? I heard they have a history of having high PR registrants. Thanks.

Anyone knows when MOE will publish schools going to ballot?

Its exceeded by 13 actually. :slapshead:Mgb:
Hi all , anyone has st gab stats pls help as is exceed by 12 ,thanks u so much
when I left the school at 4.30pm, they were saying for SC more than 2KM, 1 might need to be balloted out. but the teachers say need to consolidate numbers and re-confirm so just asked us to go home and wait for news *prays*
If 1 out of 2km will get ballot out, does it mean 84 are SC, 12 are PRs? -
Prepping for 2CS just in case the balloting goes south for Yu Neng (SC < 1KM). Appreciate any thoughts on the following schools. Thanks folks! :xedfingers:
- Bedok Green (< 1KM)
- Damai (1-2KM)
- Telok Kurau (> 2KM)
- Angsana (> 2KM) -
Some interesting stats fr last day of phase 2c, list is non-exhaustive, only based on the schs which I’m personally tracking:
- withdrawals fr earlier phases’ applicants, hence slight increase in no of vacancies: St Andrews (50 to 53 places), Kuo Chuan (40 to 43), Catholic High (21 to 23), Tao Nan (43 to 44)
- withdrawals fr phase 2c applicants: Kuo Chuan (day 1 applicants: 75, day 2: 66, day 3: 56) wonder where did they end up registering?!
- sudden surge of applicants on day 3: St Gabriel’s (83 places, 56 applied on day 2 versus 96 by day 3) -

Yes. SC can't send kids to Int'l Sch suka suka. I used to work with this company boss know how to create perceived incentive for top executives - post them officially into subsi companies (I've no idea if they're just shell companies, but they get 're-posted' back within 2 mths (done during school holidays) & applied for returning kids to Int'l Schs in Spore. These few executives super-overbearing & boasted abt their privileges.Father is a foreigner is irrelevant.
If the kid got a place in 2a1, he/she must be a SC or PR.

Rich or not, SC cannot Suka suka apply international schools. (Correct me if I am mistaken. )

Because of the compulsory education act.

Not girls school. She is alumni but the father is foreigner I’m not sure if that affect. Anyway they can afford private if needed.
I believe this is only right as SC given a lot of subsidied education which govt poured a lot of resources into. Imagine every parent go beg, borrow or steal to put a-boy/a-girl to IS, then 2 problems arises :-
1. Wasted resources in Spore schools & teachers twiddling fingers waiting for enuf students to fill classes up
2. Create an inequitable society of obvious haves & have nots.

I went to the school this morning and they were not giving the breakdown. However, I pushed a little and they said they \"may\" have balloting for PRs 1-2km but couldn't be sure (?!). I rang back at midday and it was a similar message, with slightly more registrations. But at 4pm when I rang, the lady on the phone said it was looking like balloting for SC >2kms. The message seemed to change depending on who you spoke to. It all seemed very imprecise and vague, which was frustrating. I'll be interested to see the actual breakdown when it's released. (We are PRs under 2km and decided not to risk our 2C choice and went for a safer choice instead.)
