HyperKiasu:
perhaps they were infected after they came here....
Ya, maids need to do pre-employment check up. But I suppose this one got it after arrival.atrecord:
Do you remember many years back, newspapers reported that a family was planning to migrate and had to do health checkup. The parents were shocked to discover that their 2 sons was tested HIV positive. They contracted Aids from the maid!
what, serious? i missed this, but it's really shocking...
how did the maid become infected in the first place? Don't they have any check-up before they come here? -
Maid charged with having sex with minor
05:55 AM May 13, 2010
A 27-year-old maid has been charged with four counts of engaging in sexual activities with her employer’s 12-year-old son.
She cannot be named to protect the boy’s identity.
The Indonesian committed the alleged crime in an HDB flat between June and Dec 25 last year.
She has been remanded as she could not post the $20,000 bail. Her case will be heard again next Wednesday.
The woman can be jailed up to 10 years and fined if found guilty. -
oh no, sad to say MAIDS CAN'T BE TRUSTED......(My own opinion)Can see there will be shadows left behind for that boy......
some of us can get a very very good maid, but do hear cases of very very bad maid.....And this has been a hindering of getting a maid. Till now, i would still to prefer ALL by myself..... -
totally agree, even with 'good' maid, there's no guarantee that they don't change over time and do something that you will regret. I have 2 young boys and I think I will :stupid: if this happens to my boys...

What about home tutor? Are they just as dangerous?
Mine are unmarried indo maids (mid and late 20s). I think one who's married with her own kids will not commit such acts.HyperKiasu:
are those young maid (20s or early 30) or old maid (over 40)?
I am considering a 4th maid, but after reading this thread, so scary.... better not -
dimsum:
Definitely not true. Some maids may abuse younger kids in revenge against employer admonitions.

Anyway, I heard of story where the maid hide in Master bedroom to watch blue films her friend pass to her whilst family is away. She was engaged to be taking care of a young boy. I think those types also scary...I don't want to intrude on pp's privacy, but if my kids' safety is compromised, forget it.
And another story where the maid will sneak into employer's son's room at night...he was teenage I believe. Luckily the mum caught her and sent her back before anything happen.
Didn't think of STDs, but imagine if the maid got pregnant....I have no answers already. -
