Thanks zac’s mum. Already got the letter yesterday morning, but no mention of either!

You can provide the documents to the school before orientation. Some parents mentioned.
And the orientation is at the current Queensway site.
Have you joined our WA group? The link is in the CHIJ kellock thread. There are a number of us active there already.

Hi, would like to know if balloting wasn’t successful in 2C, and have to go 2CS for registration. What happens if can’t secure a space again? Can I go to a school with vacancies to register direct after 2CS? At the same time, can I still place my child’s name as waiting list on my school of choice? Thanks.

If you still cannot get a school after 2CS, MOE will allocate your child to a school with vacancy.

If you still cannot get a school after 2CS, MOE will allocate your child to a school with vacancy.

As per what I gathered from MOE hotline, children that did not manage to secure a seat within a school will be given a list of school with vacancies, a form to fill in, pick 3 schools on the list that was given and pray hard the allocated school is not so far away that warrant a 5.30am morning call.

                1. You can’t go direct to a school with vacancies to register even if you know the school has.
                2. The school that you weren’t successful at 2cs will give you a list, a form to fill in. 3 choices has to be made, send and pray, again.
3.You can check about waiting list from school of your choice to see if they have and if you can do it at this stage. Some do have waitlist, some I feel is eternal waiting.

I am looking at either eunos primary or TKPS in phase 2cs. Both between 1 and 2km. Hopefully don't need to ballot.

TKPS is double session and lesson ends at 630pm. So late. Scared the DC will be tired. Since she wakes up at 6am daily.

Do you know TKPS will move back to 10 Seraya end Dec 2019?

                  http://tanjongkatongpri.moe.edu.sg/qql/slot/u742/Announcements/PERI%20Upgrading/Relocation%20of%20school%20to%20holding%20site%20%28letter%20dated%20on%2025%20Oct%202017%29.pdf

The purpose of upgrading the Seraya campus is to accommodate more pupils for a single session, meaning your girl will be in MORNING session come 2020 (P2). I think that should be ok, right?

Moreover, TKPS is nestled in a high-end private estate with many professionals, expats and PRs. My friend's son was in TKPS and he made some international friends from across the globe. Both my friend and hubby are lawyers.

But at this new temp campus, maybe the demographics will be different.

                  https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/education/at-least-16-schools-will-miss-2016-target-to-switch-to-single-morning-session

TKPS +1. I apologise to anyone related to eunos primary that may find my post offensive.

I am guessing that you are at stretch between Paya lebar and eunos MRT stretch of SIMS avenue, so convenience both are the same?

Peer pressure is a big factor during formative years. We look at the type of typical bad students that can come in from the neighbouring area. TKPS will have the arrogant self entitled cocky foreign westernised Party animals types from different culture. But wild ideas from this future friend network in future may also be the next Microsoft or Apple. Gates and Jobs were hippies once... Eunos Primary wise by being from an area with many rental units will have those that are from broken families, severe over crowding, parents with criminal and drug issues. U need a household income of less than 1.5k to qualify for rental units in first place. Those that get priority r those that have a husband locked up and wife and kids needed a roof over their heads typically. Else 1 parent has left and for the other it's in & out of prison and the kid is cared for by grandparents type. They somehow will bring their s**t into class and last thing u want when your kid is worrying over their friends problems, worse during PSLE year.

Another factor is eunos primary location is it's location being beside the PIE. Noise level during class may be a factor though I can't confirm. Nearest bus stop is also 10-15 mins walk out carrying a school bag. If ur kid needs to take public transport, it's going to be very painful for them. Kid is going to stay back for CCAs and extra classes at some stage and there will be no schoolbus or both parents can't fetch scenario. TKPS wise has bus stop at Katong Shopping Centre. Quieter neighbourhood.

Lastly, consider the intake size. Eunos primary is 180 vs TKPS 240. More students means more funding from MOE and also more choices for CCAs.

Received our hard copy letter from SAJS. It did say to bring our child for the orientation but made no mention of documents. We will prepare and take them with us regardless.

Also, interesting to notice that the letter was prepared on 6th Aug and mailed out on 7th Aug. Makes me think that balloting was completed on 6th Aug or maybe even earlier. But can understand why MOE chose to announce on 8th instead to accommodate all schools and their various preparations.
