Hi all, can give me some advice?

Today is my last day to do registration for phase 2Cs. My location at balestier.
I was thinking should I send my girl to
Farrer Park Primary or Guangyang Primary School?
Any suggestion?

School environment and facilities
Teachers
Children behavior
CCA

Thanks a lots.

Tampines overflow 244 registered 185

Balance 59

Bedok overflow ? (< 100? ) registered 150

I think some of Tampines overflow went to Bedok schools.

Anyone has the overflow figures for Bedok 2C?

Bedok overflow is actually 118. There was an earlier post with screenshots for Tampines, Bedok, and Pasir Ris.

Anyone capture How’s the overflow situation in Bukit Batok and Clementi?

This amazes me because my nephews are at St. G and that school was a \"last choice\" for their parents during their 2CS phase, having been balloted out of other preferences in Phase 2B and 2C. Amazing phenomenon with the dragon year. I wonder if the next dragon year will see history repeating itself - surprised that even our generation is still into these \"auspicious years\". :scratchhead:

SG50 babies is more than dragon year..which is my 2nd kid !! Think even go do parent volunteer also not guaranty got vacancy.
Do take a look, birth data can be found here ,
http://www.tablebuilder.singstat.gov.sg/publicfacing/createDataTable.action?refId=13251

2012 - 42663
2014 - 42232
2015 - 42185

Hope thats helpful
Although there are slightly fewer babies in horse year compared to dragon, you will expected more babies are born in new estates compared to matured estate. There will be more competition in the new estates.

i just called up North Vista to check on the stats…and there one who walked in to apply, causing everyone of us has to ballot again. OMG…i really cannot take it.

yesterday was full - 47/47. today 48/47. My heart…

why did that one parent has to cause all other 47 parents to stressed out again…I’m really going to break down.

Hi hi, I know it is hard but it is also not that one parent's fault, it is the system flaw I feel, having to put us through this very painful process. I can only comment that they should never allow PRs to register at phase 2C, PRs should only be given a chance at phase 2Cs.
We were balloted out from the school right next to our house at phase 2C. The school of our choice now at phase 2Cs was already filled with PRs at phase 2C, and now we risk another round of balloting, even for SC!! So I guess most SC applicants at Phase 2Cs have their fair share of problems, sticky situations, etc.

Good Luck!

Yes, Pumpkeen, we were being balloted out from a school right next to my house...literally the school gate is just a few steps away from the staircase landing.....
Now we have to face balloting again....oh my freaking goodness......realy gonna breakdown and cry in office now.
Personally I feel that distance based priority should be above the alumni and such.

The first phase should let all within 1 km to apply. The priority can be same as current system. Alumni higher than old boys old girls higher than PV higher than others but all within 1km. If oversubscribe then need to ballot

If there are leftover, open for people within 1 to 2km. It does not make sense for people living more than 2km to travel to the school daily and people living just beside the school to travel far

When they announce this move, my next career option would be Real Estate Salesperson, focusing on property around NYPS, ACS, etc.

Can foresee the cars heading to ACS getting bigger / continental (never mind if they stay next door only), and for property prices in Bishan (ATS / CHS) getting more expensive as well. Prioritising < 1km is, unfortunately, a way to ensure less diversity in some of the popular schools - and is just as bad as the alumni priority.

I agreed that this will happen to the popular school which commoner don't care. People just want to enrol the neighbour school near to his house. It is unfair to see an alumni and such travel more than 2km to take up the space.
This is where the 'commoner' aren't comprehending the implications of such a proposal.

If you prioritise < 1km over everything else, the battlegrounds will shift to the heartlands (arguably, battlegrounds are already there), i.e. the Punggol, Sengkang, Jurong etc in addition to the popular schools (no impact on popularity but may have potential impact on property prices - hence, my comment).

If the argument is for neighbourhood schools, the number of alumni willing to travel more than 2km and causing an impact in available vacancy is relatively insignificant (see Phase 2A1 / 2A2 numbers). As of now, some neighbour schools with very little take-up in Phase 2A1 / 2A2 and even Phase 2B (i.e. they are left with > 100 vacancies at the start of Phase 2C) are balloting within 1km for SC. I don't see how shifting these schools to the start of the registration would solve the problem. If you can't get in due to the ballot, that's because there are too many applicants within 1km (and everyone is trying to enroll in the school next to their house).

You can always withdraw to save 47 parents from stress.. :udawoman:

Kidding 😉
