      FantasyLandDreams:
      Need to ask 2 questions:

      1) For PSLE maths paper 1, if the question is ‘How many small packets of sugar did Mrs Lee have?’

And the child wrote the answer as ‘75’, instead of ‘75 small packets’, will marks be deducted?

      Thanks.
      No marks deducted.

\"packets\" is not a standard measurement unit. Only questions that involved units of measurement are required.
Example cm, km, m, litres, ml, kg, g and etc.

          Zappy:

The convention is to answer in the same format as the question. Eg. if the question is asking in terms of fractions, then answer in fractions. If the question is asking in terms of decimals, then give answer in decimals.
Also want to add that, if the question is in cm (like a container measuring L cm x B cm x H cm), and then what is the volume of water (without stating units), you can answer in V cm3 or V ml, it is not wrong.

Chinese oral- does anyone know if there is any resource /book, which provides a summary of the key points for each conversation topic? For revision purpose say 1-2 days before exam, such a book will be v useful since can’t possibly revise all topics again.

              Hi chenlaoshi,

Thank you so much for your generosity, in sharing the intricate technique (as well as other exam information), in this forum.
              Very much appreciated !

Would you by any chance during this year-end 2018 (November / December) school holiday : conducting any crash course for 2018 P5 students, in Chinese (Oral video answering format / Comprehension answering technqiue), for both Normal Chinese & Higher Chinese ?

Once again, Thank you, very much 🙂

Most schools actually provide very useful handouts to students. The main issue is they can be quite under-utilized --> many student's don't revise those handouts/packages on their own and only 'touch' them when sch teachers go through during lesson time.

Hi phtthp, don't mention it, just 举手之劳.

Actually, this thought did cross my mind. As I have 5 P5 home tutees this year, I am exploring the possibility of setting aside one or two of my time slots next year for small group PSLE preparatory classes to maximize the use of the resources I have prepared/will be preparing. Thus, I am planning to offer 4-6 lessons of trial classes (mcq + graphic stimulus + open ended compre sections and/or compo + oral) during the upcoming school holidays. After all, there will be a maximum no. of students I can take in eventually so to me, the more participants who come for these free lessons and can benefit from them, the merrier (even if they come just because it's free. haha 😓 ).

Asking on behalf of a Friend, anyone knows if there is a P5 talent camp organised by HCI this year? If yes, when was it held? Thanks.
