yup, distance should be the major consideration.
i’m residing in tampines so do u all know any good ones around here or simei? i’d heard soka kindy is good but i’m not sure abt it though… -
Hi,
If you are staying in Tampines, you can check out the Kinderland at Upper Changi Rd East. The teachers and principal are very nice. The cirriculum is good also. The only thing is that they spread their cirriculum to full day and encourage you to put your child there full day. -
hi, i heard that from 2012 onwards, there will be 2 campuses for St James. 1 at Harding Road and 1 at Leedon. Anyone knows what are the differences between the 2?

Hi Emmanuel, understand from many forums that St james has good curr and trs. However, I have not spoken to any trs or their principal. only to their admin when I called/visited and eventually placed reg fee to be on wait list. I am very upset with the kinda service rendered actually. To be frank, I thought better of their customer service since the above as mentioned are so overly rated by many. Don't they know first impression counts too?
We were given a vacancy, but sch bus provider said they were full. So no go for us as the transport was an issue for my hubby and I. So we called the admin to notify--not that we didn't want to enrol, but the bus was full. The admin, R said, \"Bus full is your prob\"
Well, she could have word it a more professional way and not be so offensive and rude. She gave me a very \"yaya\" attitude right from the start. \"Take it or leave it\" kinda attitude.
Very angry with such service. We are seeing our reg fee of $50 plus flying away. Pay money to get myself upset! I wonder if the other 400 plus parents faced the same service and still could live with it. If so, I wonder why?
sorry to hear about your bad experience. For me, it was a completely different experience. I was shopping for a pre-school and had been to a few and only at St James' I was given the tour of the school by the Principal herself and she spent a long time talking to us and answering our questions. So because of this and also the good reputation PLUS good feedback from parents from the school, I decided to send my son there. This is his second year and he has been so happy! He LOVES school. There hasn't been a day that he says he doesn't want to go. He learns a lot of things and would come home to show off. He doesn't go to any enrichments and doesn't appear to need any. I know a couple of admin staff are a little cool sometimes and I have had to endure that a bit but after a while, when I know them and they know me, they actually kept a look out for my kid and would call me to let me know things or to remind me something. However, I can fully understand why you would withdraw from this school after your experience. I would if it happened to me! About School Bus, I also asked about it and at the point when I asked, the Uncle told me they were full but they are about to purchase another bus for that route and he asked me to go with another bus uncle for a month and when they have the additional bus, he would transfer my kid to the new one. I am very surprised they didn't try harder for you. When I approached them, a few of the bus drivers congregated to discuss the routes and see who could take my kid. In the end, I didn't take up the offer as I wanted to do the sending and picking up myself (can't let go!!!).
Again, sorry for your bad experience. Most of the parents (and kids) I know from St James' are very happy with the school. Hope you've found a school that you like for your child. -
I have just registered my girl for 2012 nursery, with a long wait list.
Current parents, can you share your experience on the waiting time before you get a slot? Want to know it as a guideline.
Thank you -

I know their wait list is very long but since I didn't promptly registered her, there's no point crying over spilled milk
I want to find out from current parents, parents who went thru the same situation as me, ie. was in 3 digit queue number, how long it took them to get a slot.
Reason for this is to know if I should pin hope on year 2012 or I should straight pray hard for year 2013.
