Seeking some kind advice please.

Judo used to be a DSA sport before but stopped since DSA 2018. My daughter loves Judo, with aspirations at the highest world stage. RGS, besides being an obvious good school, has a solid Judo program

Anyone here with any idea whether whether changes (removal and addition) of eligible sports are common? Ie what are the odds of Judo back in RGS DSA? Are there means to approach a relevant department for queries?

By the way, her judo is quite solid and academic-wise not much concerns.

I just googled the RGS list of CCA's - judo isn't even on that list. So I'd say the chance of them having DSA for judo is pretty slim if they don't even have it for a CCA. In addition, they are eliminating 3 more CCA's in 2020, so it does not sound like there are plans to increase CCA's.

But anyway, there's no harm waiting till the early part of next yr to see the complete list of DSA domains available for application. In the meantime, can scout around for which schools offer judo.

My girl is in NYGH Judo, she told me that RGS ceased Judo already.

Thanks for the replies. Too bad then. Guess she will just have to take Judo after school. To think RGS was national champs Div B&C for 2015 and still 2nd placing this year…

Due to # of DSA seats substantially reduced, I wonder how RGS decided to close (shut) down Judo, and not other Sports.

Is it because Judo is not popular in terms of number of participants, compared to other type of Sports inside the school ?

For 2019 DSA batch (born 2007), overall, regardless of which DSA category one apply (fall) under, Total set aside is

Should be around 3.71. My DD did not get for Y3 2017 with GPA 3.66.

Hi, I'm a student and the principal actually held a talk about this (not specifically, Mrs Poh addressed \"general\" stuff). It's been a while since the school selected which CCAs to stop (I think it was last year) so I don't remember much from the talk, but I remember that they made decisions based on a number of criteria. The student executivee committee of my CCA had to fill up some forms regarding the criteria; I remember two of them - achievements and intake. But you can expect the criteria to be achievements, resources available, etc. Hope my reply helped!

2) When is the new campus ready? 
3) Is it a must to take third language? 
4) What is going to happen to a student in RGS if the student is not performing well and found unsuitable to be in IP programme?
