Hi, in your opinion, which subject has the biggest jump in terms of difficulty from P4 to P5
Total : 3 subjects (Maths, Science, Normal Chinese, Higher Chinese) faced the greatest, biggest jump .
English Paper 2 :
faced the least jump, from P4 to P5.
Science :
big jump, because Tr marked OE strictly (stringently), now.
Maths :
P5 Maths concepts, much more complex.
Normal Chinese & Higher Chinese :
OE Comprehension (li jie wen da ), are marked strictly.
OE : Open-ended -

By end of P5 SA2, Gep students' curriculum would have probably already covered (been taught) entire P6 Mainstream syllabus ?

Perhaps come P6 ... Gep curriculum may touch on lower Secondary (Science / Maths ) MOE syllabus, too ?
Perhaps Geppers probably
been taught way ahead in advance, beyond P6 Mainstream syllabus, thus explaining the reasons behind why \"99 percent of Geppers scored > 95 percent in P6 Prelims \" ?
In 2019 P6 Mainstream, many prinary schools still yet to complete teaching Science topics, by end of P6 SA1 (Term 2), like:-
Energy
Forces
Food Web (Chain)
Pollution
Environment
Structural Adaptation
Population
However, these topics (above), probably would have already been taught (covered) by end of P5 SA2, in GEP curriculum, which is taught in advance, ahead of Mainstream curriculum ? -

My child manages his own work entirely solo, so I'm not exactly sure how the curriculum went. If it really bothers you, I can check his old files & get back to you.By end of P5 SA2, Gep students' curriculum would have probably already covered (been taught) entire P6 Mainstream syllabus ?
Perhaps come P6 ... Gep curriculum may touch on a bit of lower Secondary (Science / Maths ) MOE syllabus ?
Perhaps Geppers already study well (been taught) ahead, in advance, beyond P6 Mainstream syllabus, thus explaining the reasons behind > 95 percent, at P6 Prelim (SA2) ? -

I'm amazed how well these Geppers kids adapt. Of course, mainstream kids as well. Fantastic job, its definitely a remarkable feat for both groups of kids who not only achieved but maintained high marks.sweetbaby:

This is based on my (GEP) child's cohort (few years ago) scores. In 2 classes (~45 students) of GEPpers, 99% would score A* for both MA&SC (P6 Prelims). They do not take MainStream papers from P4-P6 SA1; MS papers only for P6 Prelims. The score left an impression cos a classmate cried very hard when the child scored ~91% for P6 MA Prelims (lowest in class).
