If your friend had accepted another IP school's (not CO from NUS High) CO, her child will be posted to the CO school that she had exercised, won't be eligible for SIE (supplementary intake, via Psle T-score) anymore.Hi,
Asking for a friend. Can i know if the kid is still allowed to try SIE if he has CO and will be exercising his option?
Not just won't qualify for NUS High SIE anymore, but also won't qualify for S1 posting anymore (listing of 6 Sec schools choice), too.
Meaning that : if your friend is still interested to take part in NUS High SIE, then she should not accept the other school's CO. -
thanks a lot.

Hai,My daughter is in P6 this year. Please share your experiences about NUS High School. Thanks! Shriradh
Hi, current year 6 student here, about to graduate. My experience might be a bit outdated regarding y1s because my y1 days were half a decade ago haha, but here are some things about the school that may be helpful
Firstly the girl-boy ratio is somewhere about 1 to 4 or 5 girls to boys (at least for my batch, not sure if it has changed since), but girls are in no way disadvantaged in this school. Many of our best olympiad winners are girls, and same goes for things like council/house leadership positions.
Another thing is the school culture, due to the very small batch size by the end of y6 or earlier everyone in the batch pretty much knows each other at least by name, so it is a very close knit community. However students from NUSH tend not to have as many friends from other schools as people from other schools like RI. Kind of like a trade off between quantity vs quality of friendships.
NUSH also offers students quite a bit of freedom to do more things than just study all day long (contrary to popular belief we are not a completely mugger school haha) Many students will have had the chance to hands on participate in planning/execution of at least one school activity (orientation, prom, NUSH Bazaar etc) over the course of their school life even if they are not in the student council. This was one of the most fun things in NUSH that i experienced and also was a really great experience for bonding with my friends and teachers (yes thats right bonding with _teachers_)
Speaking of teachers, they are also very chill people and all very highly qualified (full of phds, masters etc in their fields) Sometimes (esp in earlier years) they may seem strict, draconian etc but they actually have the student's best interests at heart. They are very approachable if u ever need academic help, and they will readily agree to 1 on 1 consultation sessions to help u, which is very good since the sch syllabus is very difficult to find tutors for unless u contact a ex NUSH student (contact me if interested!! me and my friends are very willing to tutor and even have prev year notes haha)
If u have any other questions feel free to ask more
since im graduating i also have old nush recommended textbooks and stuff to sell off haha

not advisable; If kids are good, they will get in and do well, without much stress. -
